Highschool Kid shot at asking for directions to school

newtboy says...

"These people" might well mean 'the robbers'. Who else bangs on your door uninvited in the early morning (in the dark?) and refuses to leave until threatened with a gun? This is in Detroit, not Mayberry.

"Walker told WJBK TV that “she was like, ‘Why are you trying to break into my house?’ I was trying to explain to her that I was trying to get directions to Rochester High. And she kept yelling at me. Then the guy came downstairs, and he grabbed the gun,"
When the homeowner is clearly scared and screaming at you to leave, don't argue and keep trying to get inside.
Bang on my door at the break of dawn and refuse to leave, I won't give a warning shot, and I won't miss, race is not a factor.

Sounds to me like he was trying to rob them, got caught, and made up a ridiculous story about being lost and attacked for being black.

So many obvious fake racism claims posted lately that it seems nearly certain to me this is just more of the same. Let's see the full, unedited surveillance video, I bet it tells a different story.

When all information regarding this topic needs to be filtered through "peer reviewed scientific studies" invariably funded by mega corporations who have nothing to gain from discovering whole plant based cures, your opinions will be more than a little biased.

Here's a few accounts:

"Ten months ago girlfriend was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer. Immediately switch to all organics/non GMOS and started taking the oil. Half way into the treatment test results showed the lesion had shrunk half its size and was now precancerous. Last week new tests showed she is not only CANCER FREE but PREGNANT which they said may never happen. Rick Simpson I really owe you, brother. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” Jason
“I have a good friend Scott with cerebral palsy. About 6yrs ago he was in and out of hospital, they just throw in meds at him. Finally his mom said there's got to be another way. After he went from 200 pounds to 110 we thought we were gonna lose him until he started consuming cannabis. After six months he was back to normal and put all the weight back on and takes half the meds. He has outlived 3 times over what doctors said and they say he's just lucky. I have other thought.” Shane
“This is my brother who the dr said he had 2 months with inoperable liver cancer. That was a year ago. His tumor has shrunk to 1/4 size. His tumor markers went from 5667 to 94. He is living proof. He still runs his own business. Both Northwestern in Chicago and Mayo clinic in Rochester Minnesota gave him that diagnosis. He consumes the oil.” Holley
“Thank God we found Rick’s site when we did..... I started the oil 4 months ago and the spot where my tumor was removed is closed up!!! They told my GBM stage 4. And I would die in a year and half. Been 15 months and feel better than ever.... We really want to tell the world!!!!! Saved my life for sure.” Rachel

-- Tell everyone you can that there is a safe and effective cure/control for cancer, and that it can be used as a prevention against cancer, too. The sooner you start spreading the word in your community the sooner people will overcome their hesitations and will demand this medicine. Be ready for a lot of resistance in the beginning. If you let them read posts and comments on this page, I think it will take less time to convince them. Thank you for your help in spreading the word about this medicine. JB

If we can't question the police, is this a police state?

Cops are the largest organized and armed gang in the US. They collect revenue for cities and states. They enforce laws that disproportionally target the poor and the non-white. They are rarely prosecuted and almost never convicted for crimes committed by their members, even while off duty.
The police often attract employees who enjoy violence.
I fear the police much more than I count on them to do the right thing.

Not in Rochester. In Rochester, it's the Crips. Just sayin'. I know they both wear blue and all, it can be tough to tell. I have a feeling the Rochester Crips run most of the Caine and H that the north east sees. They also routinely wear vests, and carry automatic weapons. A friend of mine witnessed a drive-by with an automatic weapon right down the street from our house, which I believe is right down the street from where the original arrest took place.

She shouldn't have been arrested, and the court dismissed it out of hand. In fact, the court didn't, the prosecutor didn't even press the charge. Our legal system has routinely defended our rights to question and record the police. That a couple of high-stress cops over-react isn't surprising, nor is it particularly threatening to our liberties. There is, however, some serious anti-cop sentiment that is threatening to everybody. I can see being uneasy as a cop, particularly in some neighborhoods of that town. Edgy cops are more likely to do something they shouldn't. Sure, the ticket thing was childish, but it's too convenient to paint this issue with a broad brush. If you were forced to watch every arrest on film, my suspicion is that you'd agree with the vast majority of them. You just only see the videos the "changing minds campaigners" want you to see.

From a joint statement issued by Mayor Tom Richards, City Council President Lovely Warren and Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard: "We believe that the incident that led to Ms. Good's arrest and the subsequent ticketing for parking violations of vehicles belonging to members of an organization associated with Ms. Good raise issues with respect to the conduct of Rochester Police Officers that require an internal review. A review into both matters has been initiated."

LOL. This is funny. The city of Rochester won't stand for this. I suspect Louise Slaughter will get involved.

To be fair to the cops in the original video, I spent 8 years in Rochester, and if I recognize the neighborhood, it's the one I lived in. Most people don't realize this, but Rochester isn't exactly green acres. It has a substantially higher murder rate than NYC, active gang populations, drug running, the whole nine yards. As often accompanies that sort of activity, neighborhoods such as the 19th ward, where I used to live, have a pronounced anti-cop attitude. If I were doing an arrest there, at night, I'd rather not have people snooping around. Those stoops know you by your badge number. There were multiple murders/muggings/burglaries in the neighborhood while I was there, including a drive-by my friend witnessed right up the street. I could even tell you the story about how I naively offered the "mayor of the 19th ward" (the head of the crips) a ride home. He introduced me to all his "nephs" that would proceed to hand him bigger rolls of cash than I've ever seen, brought me to the crack house up the street where the toothless dude living in a closet was "saving up for a sandwich, but would buy some bags to lick if he had any," and finally explained to me that when he called me "cool as a bitch" it was a good thing, because he fought dogs, and "ain't no dog gonna fight longer and harder for you than a pit bitch." He further explained, "if somebody says 'you gonna die bitch,' that's not the bitch you want to be." Then there was the part where he tried to offer me car parts, bulletproof vests, guns, drugs, girls, you name it.

That said, clearly there are much better uses of officer resources in that city than curb-distance parking citations.

Also, this isn't in keeping with their typical attitude surrounding activism. When the Iraq war broke out, I worked with a group of radicals organizing anti-war protests. We had protests every week on Fridays leading up to, and into the beginning of the war for months. We shut down the streets in front of the federal offices downtown with about 500-1000 people routinely, and really were pretty obnoxious to the cops in retrospect (doing things like changing our route so they couldn't keep us out of the streets, and yelling in their faces with a megaphone). While we had our own "special investigator" nothing ever really came of it. They let us say our piece, do our CD, and didn't even arrest us for it. They'd talk big, but honestly, given our attitude at the time, they could have been much less civil than they were. Although, how they treat the college kids, and how they treat the bangers in the hood at night is a different ballgame.

No excuse, This was petty harassment. I do believe the term is, "Official Oppression" This should never be allowed to happen. The police are saying that if you support this woman we will find a way to fine you for whatever we can think of. I love this quote from their union.
"Rochester Police Union President Mike Mazzeo said the officer in question repeatedly told Miss Good he felt threatened by her presence."
So? If you feel threatened by someone filming you then maybe your doing something wrong? If not then why are you feeling threatened? I person with a camera is not a threat unless your doing something wrong. If an officer pulled over a driver for whatever reason and the drive stated he felt threatened by the dash cam how do you think that officer would respond?

Also, almost EVERY cell phone made now has a built in camera that can take pictures and video. No matter how much you want to stop it. Its far to late. In the early 90's my last year a collage. I walked everywhere with a video camera. Not only did the local police not care. (If I ever find that tape its going to be youtube gold) I have several shots of motorcycle cops dancing in the street waving and having a blast. On a Monday night.

Claiming they just enforcing the law is pure bullshit. They chose to be petty. They chose to harass people. Its not a valid excuse. The guards at Auschwitz claimed they were only following orders. Ya, a bit over the top but i feel nothing nails that BS excuse mentality better.

2bbl Rochester, bad cam, they did some ridiculous things to start addressing pollution.
A 750 cfm Holley double pumper (or two) or a Carter, better spring rate and some Koni firecrackers to dampen would have change things considerably. This was not a handling vehicle anyway. 396cid is still my favorite engine. I drove one that when stepped into on the rear bumper of a semi at 55mph would be at 110mph at the front bumper.

XKE E Type coupe, one of the sexiest autos ever. 246cid inline six would run. Incredible handling. Now neutered Fords with kitty on the hood. (Didn't get to see it. )
