Most Psychotic Song Ever? Milow -You And Me (In My Pocket)

interesting perversion of pop music sentiments.

maybe doesn't push it far enough to offset the harmless chorus and generic Paul Simon backing...
if it went one step more into funny/gross than it would be less creepy.

What Ke$ha sounds like without her precious autotune

pmkierst says...

I had to look that up

Maybe it is that, I dunno. I get tired of all the hatin' on various forms of pop music. In part because I like pop music (and many other forms of music too) so take it as a personal assault on my taste But also because I don't care for slaggin' other peoples creative efforts. So I call it defending Ke$sha, not other posters.

On the upside, I larn'd a new term!

Rebecca Black 'Friday' Arranged For Orchestra

The tune itself is vaguely catchy in that pop music kind of way. It's the lyrics and the voice that bring everything to a level untouched by any concept of reality. Even so, this is to much. It's a terrible song people, just let it die please. I'm begging.

Charlie Brooker Goes Off on Twitter and Rebecca Black

MaxWilder says...

Gotta admit, I feel bad for mocking her nasally voice now. Because she's going to make a full album. She'll get over her tears because this could, maybe, jumpstart a career. Because of all the people who mock her. Think about that.

BTW, that $2000 figure was just what her family contributed to the production costs in order to keep the rights to the song (source). Smart move, since the song is selling on iTunes now. They could have paid nothing and let Ark keep the rights to everything. The video cost way more than that to make. Some producer somewhere thinks the dead-pan nasal-voice thing is going to be big. And god help us, he could be right.

HAHAHA LOL THEY R REALY GETING INTO IT LIKE TRYING REALY HARD

I thought the music company was just making these songs purely for bussiness but it actually seems like they are treating it as a serous artistic Enterprise rather than a comercail one.

I dont have a problem so much with the lyricks and the song its just as retarded as majorty of pop music.

its strange i think its anothe rone of those thigns were lack of talent or been thick is actualy benoficail , there are thousends of people with tallent but they have th einterlect to stop themselfs because they know it wudnt be up to a standerd they themselfs would like , but if your realy dull then you will work realy hard and end up producing something compleaty unawae of how retarded it is and evan promote it with a straght face.

Thanks for the Big Q! I'm not a huge fan of current pop music, but this thing floored me....

In reply to this comment by Fusionaut:
I'll second that *quality on account of the complete *artistry of this piece. Singing in front of an audience already takes guts but Pink is also nearly nude, spinning around in the air, hanging upside down, being dunked in water all while singing beautifully and emotionally. I am completely amazed.

Oh, and it wasn't lip-synced.

No worries, and thanks for the welcome. I've got a few more videos to post that don't seem widely known, there used to be a fun tv show here called "So Frency, so Chic" which featured the best of French Pop music, and I've been posting the ones my children like.

I enjoyed this video of an acoustic session with Carmen Maria Vega and Féloche, if you liked the first one you might like it too.

Thanks for sharing the video I hadn't heard of them before. Welcome to Videosift by the way.

Yuki - Joy

JAPR says...

It's interesting the extent at which a lot of music genres have slowly drifted towards trying to be rock music of sorts, with pop (at least some segments of it) and country being the best/worst offenders (pop that has rock elements tends to make for more engaging pop music, country with rock elements tends to sound ridiculous). The simple riffs and pleasant vocals make me think of Miki Furukawa or maybe POP CHOCOLAT.

Do you know if Yuki writes her own stuff at all?

Also, I would post some stuff, but I can't seem to find out how the heck to post the new YouTube embeds, I'll look at the SiftTalk to see if there was some info about that later I guess lol.
