The Alpinist Trailer

BSR says...

It must be nice to be able to command or tame the laws of gravity.

A single fly landing on my nose would bring death.

Better get your tickets to Trump/OReilly before they sell out…..
Oh, never mind, they’re only running at 5-10% capacity at the small (10000 - 15000 seat) stadiums that they booked. That means a free upgrade is guaranteed, buy nose bleed seats, you’ll be sitting in the floor seating anyway.
But he’s so popular, how can that be? His photoshopped photos show every single seat filled…too bad for them local news also took footage showing the reality of near empty stadiums.

Dying in the name of freedom

newtboy says...

My two cents, the old axiom, your right to swing your first ends at my nose, seems to apply.

I think people should pay for their choices, so eating poorly, pay more for insurance....Lots more. Ignore doctors advice, lose all benefits of insurance and pay for your own care, and from the back of the line too. When that choice has a good chance of costing someone else's life or health, that's the line imo. You cannot ever repay that kind of debt, so you shouldn't be allowed to take it on, nor should people be allowed to gamble with other people's health and lives.

Hey there. Devil's advocate here.

Should we tell people who eat poorly to fuck off, too? What about any people who go off of their doctor's advice?

Don't get me wrong, I'm heavily in your corner. I would say the pandemic is a special case, not because it takes up hospital beds unnecessarily (which most of them do since heart disease, the #1 killer, is a disease of lifestyle), but because it immediately puts others in danger, outside the hospital.

The question of freedom vs. public health is easy in this case, but when does it become overreach? On the other (very far) end of the spectrum is eugenics.

As US Withdraws from Afghanistan, Refugees Must Be Evacuated

newtboy says...

Nope, sorry. Another total failure of your memory.

This is Trump's retreat, negotiated by Trump with the criminal terrorists who gave up absolutely nothing to get Trump's unconditional surrender and retreat. In the process, Trump delegitimized and abandoned the legitimate Afghan government and indicated they would not be supported by the U.S. military. He also abandoned those Afghanis who risked their lives to help us, making absolutely no plans to identify or allow them to immigrate here, instead actually putting active road blocks in the way, slowing or discarding their applications, and not staffing positions required to process applications. Biden was left to facilitate the disastrous agreement Trump made when he "negotiated" (actually just capitulated) with terrorists but did not prepare for. Biden failed to fix this disastrous withdrawal Trump caused and botched, he didn't cause it.

I understand, with an IQ below 75, it's hard for you to remember who did what. Trump made this happen, bragged about it until a few weeks ago. Trump released 5000+ of the Taliban from prison then unconditionally surrendered to them last spring without consulting the Afghan government. The only concession he got was an agreement from terrorists to not attack the U.S. during the retreat until May but attacking the Afghanis was allowed...Biden got that extended through August.

Got 25th? Could you mean implement the 25th amendment? When did right wing nutjobs lose their ability to speak English?

Won't happen....if Delusional Donny wasn't demented and dementia riddled enough to remove, Biden has nothing to worry about at all. His mental state makes Trump look like a Alzheimer's patient and stroke victim who's addicted to crack. Is that why he's besties with the My Crackpipe Guy now....that's his dealer?
Are you advocating for President Harris? How about President Pelosi? Do you even realize that's what happens if Biden was removed? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face! Lol.

Denver cops refuse mandatory Covid vaccinations

Just as your right to swing your fist ends firmly at my nose, your right to be an idiotic anti science virus incubator and virulent disease vector ends firmly at your property line.

Isn’t it hilarious that right wingers want to use personal sovereignty, control and authority over your own body, as a shield from responsibility for their dangerous, deadly actions, but absolutely refuse it’s existence when it comes to women having authority over their own bodies, ie abortion/birth control.

Trump didn't do anything wrong

The music is a little more dramatic than what's going on I think. Kinda like wearing shoes that are too big for the feet.

Do your hands always need to be on the controls at all times? How easy is it to recover from let's say an unexpected seagull attack or a bee swarm? How would you handle an itchy nose? Can you wave to a babe on the beach to get her attention?

Too many unanswered questions for me to buy one.

Being in the death business I wash my hands a lot to the point where it's hard to separate two sheets of paper or handle cardboard boxes due to having no oils to grip with. It's not like I can just swipe some saliva off my tongue. I do wear rubber gloves when handling the deceased but not everything is sanitized such as door knobs and surfaces where you would not normally use gloves. I always use rubber gloves to pick my nose though.

Interesting... Yeah that's entitlement imo. The world is not fair and some people do get privileges that others do not get. maybe life was hard on bewb but that doesnt mean it should be for others too, or that common sense changes to better everyone overall (like a societal safety net) should be abandoned because he had to walk uphill both ways to school therefore so should everyone else. Some cant see past their own nose and are so self-absorbed they cant think of overall societal good without making it about them again.

I've seen / read some stuff around the "great replacement" concept lately. It's apparently a significant, if not THE significant commonality amongst people who both 1) believe the election was fraudulent and 2) would consider violence in response. The root causes of the worldview seems to stem from personal hardships, and from the perception of others getting advantages they didn't receive themselves. Makes some degree of sense to me, as over the course of one's life it could feel like you were treated unfairly while others were given a leg up.

It doesn't strike me as the sort of thing that can be productively fought against on an individual level. That such a worldview requires far more than just a motivating incident, but more like a life of personal experience, I don't personally see how to successfully shift someone away from it. Too damned ingrained. Our best bet, in my view, is actually having a proper social safety net that lifts everyone up to a viable baseline from which to pursue their life / liberty / happiness.
