Very interesting guy. He definitely paved the way for computers today.

In 1959 he gave what is considered the first ever talk about nanotechnology, which can be read here. (It's pretty lengthy)

There is also an award named after him given to a scientist who makes significant advances in nanotechnology.

I don't think I'll try to compete but the timing is interesting. CRN (Center for Responsible Nanotechnology) is having their first conference right now. Runs Sep 9-13. Might be worth seeing if anything interesting comes out of that.

Fullerenedream is a bit of a tribute to Tangerine Dream and Tryptamine Dream. It also vaguely refers to dreams of technology: cylindrical fullerenes are carbon nanotubes. really idealist though. gonna take a while before you can convince people that stem cells != human beings and that nanotechnology wont result in grey goo situation and that strong AI won't result in a skynet situation (if thinking of the transhumanist route). i'd give it over 100+ years

Space exploration will be much easier once we master nanotechnology, and can upload ourselves into computers the size of dust motes. When we're that size, it will be much more economical to send ourselves into space.
