Magic Piano brings holiday cheer :-)

visionep says...

The Magic Castle in Los Angeles has a magic piano. There are a lot of cool interactions that happen with people talking to the piano and requesting music.

I doubt that they needed to plant people to get these clips, but I bet there were a ton of other clips that were unusable because they didn't come off as well.

Jon Stewart's 19 Tough Questions for Libertarians!

blankfist says...

@JiggaJonson, man, you're harboring such personal resentment. It's all so petty and cringeworthy at this point. But, again, your premise is completely ridiculous. And for so many reasons it's hard to list them all here. I also don't believe in the heavy gun restrictions here in Los Angeles, but I'm not about to walk out onto the streets in front of LAPD with an AK-47 slung over my shoulder. By your backwards logic, that means I'm supporting gun control.

Not to mention, Thoreau lived at a different time when it was probably safer to be a tax resister. The fewer interactions with our police state that I can make for myself is probably for the best. Also the Internal Revenue System (a self-proclaimed tax law enforcement agency) wasn't formed until the exact year Thoreau died. Fact. Look it up.

I'm fairly certain Thoreau didn't have to submit a W9 to work as an author. I, on the other hand, do. And the 16th Amendment, the one responsible for Congress's ability to levy income tax, wasn't even ratified until over forty years after his death. And so forth and so on, etc. etc. boring conversation and blah blah.

Plus my personal life is none of your business. So you're just really talking out your ass and comparing apples to oranges here. I really hope you can find happiness in your life and move past being so bitter.

All-American Free-For-All

"This is all over TV, all over television this is like sport in Los Angeles."

Well then Take it Off the TV! Just like with school shootings, they always say they aren't trying to turn the guy into a hero but they give him ridiculous amounts of coverage. I'm sitting here and I WANT these robbers to win or get away. It's retarded, take it off television, record it and have it ready for the nights broadcast, there is NO REASON to do this live and endanger more people!

The Colbert Reports On Nestle's Bottled Water Campaign

aimpoint says...

Hes not wrong about the price of water, just wrong about the profit of it.

As far as I've seen living in the Los Angeles area, water conservation is hardly something noticed. Driving up from southern to northern California, there are signs along the I-5 of farmers complaining about the "Congress created dustbowl" implying water gouging that has to be blamed on a person or group. In reality, there's only so much water to go around and more people are around than 20 years ago. The culture here is pretty wasteful compared to other places in the world. Been to Australia once long ago, the most amazing thing I remember was the half flush toilets. It was symbolic of their much higher water conservation standards.

Old but the signs are still up last time I drove

Low Security Jail In Norway

oritteropo says...

This video was talking about Norway, and the Norwegian system, and although there are some similarities with Sweden it would be a bit like me suggesting that Canada is unsafe because of crime in the U.S.A.

One thing that does stand out when looking at both countries is that they are very small. Norway has approximately the population of Melbourne (or Los Angeles) and Sweden is approximately New York City (or Melbourne and Sydney combined)... and of course there is more crime in the larger cities like Oslo than in smaller towns.

Thanks for your comment since, despite not entirely agreeing with your original statement because I think the topic is a little more complicated than that, I have learned something (about both Norway and Sweden)

The reason you don't know this is because your thought-leaders intentionally hide information from you

Dodger Player Plays Catch With Young Fan

The kid has a pretty good arm, he should try out for the Anaheim Angels.

I think you mean the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. (That's how the team was able to put Los Angeles back in the name without breaking their contract with Anaheim.)

I guess it's a good marketing thing (for name recognition?) to be associated with LA even though you're not actually located there. I think Anaheim is a better association because Disneyland is there and it's not quite as filthy as LA.
