UK Jewish MP: Israel acting like Nazis in Gaza
>> ^rosekat:
>> ^Lego123:
They've been acting like Nazis since the beginning. Israel or Grossdeutschland, the ideas and arguments are the same.
Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany is plain and simple wrong....
Really? The number of easy comparisons is pretty fucking incredible, draw yourself a chart up some time. I think Israel has been at it longer though, so maybe they're more 'Nazi' than the Nazis were even? Just a thought. And I'm not pro-Palestine btw, I'm just anti-killing-kids-because-it-seems-to-get-you-off-like-some-sadistic-psychopath-masturbating-in-the-mirror.
the most obvious example to me is the ghetto that is Gaza. it's one of the most densely populated places on the planet and the borders are on lockdown. to get supplies such as food, water, and medicine they've had to dig tunnels into Egypt, which Israel is now trying to destroy. take away these basic necessities and then wait for them to get fed up and launch a couple of unguided, primitive rockets, then slaughter them with some of the most advanced weaponry available. what happened to the jews during WWII is of course terrible, but that in no way gives them a blank check to carry out their own inhumane (although not nearly as severe) actions. i mean no disrespect, but to me these parallels are fairly plain to see, but seem to be shrouded by something else that Israel has learned from the Nazi's (and undoubtedly the US) , the art of propaganda.</rant>

CIA Contributes To The Creation Of The Crack Epidemic
I don't care if the CIA had anything to do with the crack epidemic, because even if they did, the real question is why people in the inner cities would want to smoke crack.
We always try to uncover the lies and conspiracies, but we never deal with the problem. The director of the CIA could admit to personally funding the crack epidemic, and he would be sent to prison, yet nothing would be done about the epidemic itself.
Drug users would still be sent to prison for long stints of lockdown, instead of rehabilitation. Drug dealers would be sent to prison for short terms after testifying against other drug dealers. And the trade would continue as it has for a century.
The DEA would continue receiving government funding to perpetuate the War against Common Sense, and the inner cities would never receive adequate help in order to combat the problems associated with the drug epidemic.

Why do you want the ability? For the principle of the thing? To be able to duck and cover, and erase all your steps here? Then DON'T POST.
Quotes can be changed anyway, look:

It's not like we don't have any say in the matter, we did get it changed to 24hours before lockdown.
Dear Dag and Lucky, (Wtf Talk Post)
Good riddance to both. I love Choggie before he became all angsty and rude.
As for Necro Editing: Lockdown and put a lid on it now. For better or for worse what work was put in by both are just... needed, for lack of better term. We went through this (sorta) when snake plissken decided to do the same. It's childish: Basically throwing a temper tantrum because mommy wants to leave the toy store.
The Scene That Won Denzel Washington His First Oscar
I've never seen this but i'll give it a try. To my mind, Denzel's best, most untouchable, enduring performance, and probably one of my favourite acting jobs of all time, is from Training Day. Any part of that film sees him displaying a fine piece of acting - away from his normal character 'comfort zone'. But worthy of note is one of the final scenes, when his neighborhood turns on him, and his viciously yelled speech about "playing basketball in pelican bay, shu program, 23 hour lockdown"!
Crooked cop fixing up a young guy in order to pull some strings, it's one of my favourite films not because of the unique and fun story (though it is fun), but almost entirely because of Denzel's acting.
Not in the same vein by any means, but i thought i'd share.
Enemy is a powerful word; a word used too often (Blog Entry by curiousity)
I agree that dehumanization is also a psychological defense, by dehumanizing you eliminate the enemy as being inherently human, its easier to kill then because you aren't killing human beings. Its a form of cognitive dissonance, that can be backed up by any number of reasons.
This can be seen in paintings, consider the Shootings of May 3rd by Goya, the killers have their backs to us, they are alien while those being shot at closer to us. We emphasize with those about to get killed through the emotions that play over each one. In other mediums like cinema we see it when an army is being assailed by a faceless nameless enemy, we are drawn to those whose plight we see, their attackers are distant, inhumane, this is done in alot of action films and especially in World War 2 movies. Our responses are being shaped in subtle ways.
Other forms of psychological lockdown also exist for example in Guantanamo Bay, troops there were trained to greet and acknowledge each other by the saying "Honor bound to defend freedom" . This is a psychological device to remind the troops of their mission and why there are there, its coercive because it eliminates internal criticism, the same could be seen in the armed forces post 9/11 where those events created the necessary ethical argument to committing evil acts in themselves. To against that flow was hard. Criticism was seen as lacking patriotism or worse aiding the enemy.
My statement that we must commit great evil to end evil is simply a realistic observation of man's involvement in war. Its the rationale that we create, this was the rational used in the Vietnam war, Gulf war, Serbia and other conflict. As if one nations atrocities are somehow better then anthers, but this is the view that most Americans are programmed to have. That Americans do no evil, that somehow their involvement is clean, just and required for the "survival of civilization as we know it against fundamentalist Islamic terrorism". Pretty words to simply justify a never ending war.
For me the issue is presented simply by the following quote - "Robert McNamara: I think the human race needs to think about killing. How much evil must we do in order to do good."
There is a speech by Chris Hedges talking about War Is A Force That Gives Us Meaning - http://www.videosift.com/video/War-is-a-Force-that-Gives-us-Meaning-by-Chris-Hedges-1H
I recommend reading Chris Hedges - "War Is A Force That Gives Us Meaning" and "Dispatches" by Micheal Herr.
Global Terror/Threat Incidence Map. I'm moving to Iceland. (Waronterror Talk Post)
"[Northern Illinois University] ILLINOIS - Police investigate anonymous threat in residence hall
"NIU officials are investigating a threat posted late Saturday evening in a campus residence hall which included a racial slur and references to the Virginia Tech shootings"
[WSB TV] GEORGIA - Five Walton County Schools On Lockdown
"Five schools are on lockdown in Walton County after officials noticed suspicious people in the area"
"Officials said they noticed suspicious people in an area outside a school. They have placed multiple schools on lockdown as a precaution"
Yep. That's right, STAY AFRAID, of EVERY LITTLE THING! Blows my mind, the stuff that managed to get on this map, most of this stuff, I wouldn't even call 'terrorism'.
See also their Illegal Alien Incident Map to get your daily reminder of how damn scared of Mexicans you should be, because OMG they're in our country! And they're speakin' Spanish!
A three minute history of Middle East Oil
It is hard to believe, that folks who consider themselves enlightened as to the workings of the planet's contrived systems, that no one has bothered to mention how simple it would be for an octopus like the old and gas and military, all working hannover fist, to keep theirs for them, could not use, governments, leaders, or orchestrated events like 9/11's controlled demolitions and protracted war on terror, to remain in place as long as they can....fuck, if a couple of bombs going off in some city E.U. , etc., can illicit fear that effects worldwide economics.....then the few lives and improvements on some real estate, is a small goddamn price to pay......especially when you control all media, this includes Fox, CNN, and all of them, control all diversion such as sporting events, and political campaigns, social issues, have a lockdown on a "legal" world drug trade, arms manufacture, agri-biz, federal and national reserves......I mean fuck people, talk about being able to get away with murder.....and with the internet, the availability of knowledge and history to the masses, there are STILL, folks who refuse to believe the possibility even exists.....
denial is a motherfucker
Oh, he's running, alright ("Meet Barack Obama")
Okay I like Barak Obama.
But let's not forget besides his vision and his charisma, Obama has not really done anything concrete. Does America see Obama or even Clinton as a possible strong person to run a war on terror? I don't know. How far can they convince the American people that they could be tough on terror? (even if I believe personally the threat of worldwide terrorism is about as empty as the threat of the Soviet Union in the late 80s)
There are also two republicans who could also be running such as John McCain and Chuck Hagel (I hope to God). Both are Army vets. Now I don't like McCain much at all, while he is a war vet his military strategy is entirely flawed as he is pushing for the surge just as much as the Whitehouse is. Hagel has been persona non grata with the Republicans after Kerry dropped his name yet he is the only one who has expressed skepticism about the War in Iraq all this time since 2004, and says that the surge is entirely foolish endeavor. Both men initially voted for the war, however only Hagel has really developed an understanding that it can't work, he's not in the cut and run crowd yet he understands that sending an additional 20,000 troops wont fix the problem.
There is no plan for the surge forces, most of them are being sent to Baghdad to keep the security situation? But how? Will they be used to force a settlement between Sunnis and Shias? Are you going to lockdown Baghdad? All it will do is increase Iraqi animosity and strengthen resistance. Vietnam should have reminded the administration that you CANNOT fight a war of independence for someone else.
What are the Democrats doing? Well they don't want to be labeled as weak on terror so are sidestepping cutting the funds to the new surge, though whether or not they will allow troops to be sent is another matter. Obama himself said that the surge would be a mistake compounding a mistake, however argued that he could not in good conscience cut off funding for troops that are there.
Honestly I think this is starting the race entirely too soon. It really depends on how the so called surge plays out. This is all building up a public persona of a person, however that without real action is merely a paper face still. Furthermore, the Democrats would just as easily divide amongst ties (imagine Obama vs Hillary) and fight it out between themselves instead of joining forces. But I don't think either wants to join forces even when both candidates strengths and weaknesses balance each other out nicely.

US Soldiers Destroy Man's Taxi because they can
"Here's the thing. Everyone knows Saddam was bad, along with his regime."
>>>> Not true. "Everyone" does NOT know what kind of evil we're up against. The latest proof of this is the whole world condemning Israel--a nation that wants to coexist peacefully and is an oasis of tolerance compared to its neighbors--for defending herself against a well-funded terrorist organization hiding among a civilian population and firing rockets.
>>> All these global appeasement weasels, and we're talking whole nations here, not just individuals, refuse to understand the magnitude of the threat that is Islamofascism. Winston Churchill tried to warn the world about the Nazis and was poo-pooed him in a similar manner.
"I'm sick of people claiming that any sort of judgement of how American soldiers act means you are 'with the terrorists'. That not a debate, but is instead an attempt to avoid debate."
>>>> "Debate" is rather useless, because the left-leaning in America and the world at large are in total denial about what Western Civilization is up against. 9-11 wasn't enough, the Taliban weren't enough, Saddam wasn't enough, the subway and train bombings in England and Spain weren't enough, and the broadcasted cold-blooded executions of journalists by masked cowards weren't enough.
>>>> The hezbos and others can't be reasoned with, only killed until there's none left. THAT is the reality of the situation. This enemy only understands brute force.
>>>> War atrocties are nothing new. There are bad soldiers, bad cops, bad doctors, etc. I don't excuse them, but look, if we lose against the jihadists then there will be NO civilization with any lawful standards in which to conduct trials punishing wrongdoing.
>>>> My objection to the video is that details are few while the general reaction the film crew is trying to provoke is the throwing of the baby out with the bathwater and to reflect poorly on America.
>>>>> We'll never know if the looters weren't also planting roadside IED's between "borrowing" wood.
>>>>> But even if we take this vid's events at face value and the tank crew are bad apples, we know damned well that America's drive-by media will NEVER allow the opposite view of the good deeds and actions of professional soldiers to be seen...not an inkling of GOOD news coming out of Iraq will reach American TVs if the drive-by nmedia has its way. Those idiots WANT us to fail because victory doesn't fit their narrow idealogy and threatens their power.
>>>>> These videos, for better or for worse, are more readily accessible than books, esp. to those who rarely read and don't know what to read when they do. That's why tv and movies are on lockdown while books (in the West) flow like lifeblood. The comments section, pro and con, enhances the experience.
>>>>> I never vote down videos I disagree with politically, but I retain the right to express my opinion just like anyone else. Dass all. Back to the fun.
