Elvis with Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins in 1955
It's hard to believe that Johnny Cash was ever younger than me. I think he was born old and grizzled.. this guy's gotta be an impostor!

Your Johnny Cash video "The Man Comes Around" is dead...

Here's a good replacement, but you might wanna change the title since it doesn't involve WWI.

HURTING THE SIFT (Parody Talk Post)
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
No, I just wanted to make sure that you listened to the whole song and stared into my bearded visage.
>> ^calvados:
Am I missing something? I just see the pic of Dag and hear Johnny Cash.
>> ^dag:
This is a hell of a audio-visual montage, I especially like the surprise at the end.

How to be Punk
hey! lets have a music in history thread inspired by how terrible this was
ill start:
after museful consideration i have to say that i agree with homer simpsons assertion that rock attained perfection in 1974 and anything that i can think of is either 1)directly and obviously influenced by something from this era or 2) influenced by something influenced from this era
in 1974 you have: lou reed and the velvet underground, the ny dolls, the kinks, stevie wonder, jackson 5, the rolling stones, frank zappa, patti smith, aretha franklin, david bowie, eric clapton, rod stewart, led zepplin, johnny cash, paul simon, neil young, bob dylan, and the waning days of the beatles... sure really really good things came before, but 74 seems like the perfect blending point of old and new. where the forces that were powerhouses and founding fathers of rock n roll met and mingled with the new wave and poof...
your turn go!
Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus AMV ( Witch Hunter Robin)
I only own the Johnny Cash cover, so it was fun listening to the original. Very cool.

Joaquin Phoenix says he is quitting acting; reporter laughs
Well, according to Phoenix's publicist, it's true:
NEW YORK - Joaquin Phoenix is quitting movies to focus on music.
Phoenix's publicist has confirmed his earlier comments to TV's "Extra" that the upcoming "Two Lovers" will be his last performance on film.
Phoenix first talked about his decision to "Extra" this week while attending a fundraiser in San Francisco.
He abruptly ended the interview after the reporter asked if he was joking.
The 34-year-old star received Oscar nominations for his roles in "Gladiator" and "Walk the Line," for which he learned to play guitar to portray country legend Johnny Cash.
Phoenix co-stars with Gwyneth Paltrow in the romantic drama "Two Lovers," slated for release Feb. 13.
Publicist Susan Patricola says it's "not strange" that Phoenix wants "Two Lovers" to be his last film.
"Joaquin has been directing music videos and been involved in music for the last number of years," she said.
