Most Shocking Second a Day Video

chingalera says...

Well artician, until people get a clue as to the hows and whos behind conflict eruption, famines, etc., the ride won't stop but will most certainly escalate.

Economic market manipulation with the goal of consolidating complete control of humanity is the goal, destroy the perpetrators of the ruse and this game ends and a new one begins.

*Notice the headline on dad's paper, as he sits non-nonchalantly reading about the government declaring martial law...Same shit the media constantly preps the U.S. for.

You really want to save the children you have to teach them to recognize complete truths as opposed to manipulative fabrication.

18-Month-Old Healthy Giraffe Publicly Killed and Dismembered

It's not a video editing prank, if that's what you mean. This is a very popular news story at the moment.

Can't tell if the content of the video is what the audio says it is.
If it is, humans nary need more evidence they should just up and die, and leave this world to the "animals".

It's raining rocks in Sicily

*backup=[...snipped...] and thanks to dailypicksandflicks.com for finding the original video, which I hadn't.

p.s. The filmmaker posted a comment to liveleak:

I'm the filmmaker, I'd like to share a couple of notes.
The "raining" of ashes from Mt. Etna is not rare, but this time it was unusually intense. Some towns nearby were hit even harder.
It lasted more than 30 minutes.
Yes, cars got scratched, some windshields got chipped. But no Ferrari's or Lamborghini's around!
The biggest pain is to clean up, we have to collect ash into sacks and stash them at the corners for a special service to collect them. It will take weeks to get rid of it all.
We have to wear masks while cleaning because thin ashes are believed to hurt your lungs.
Pompei was not covered with the same kind of ashes, but with a massive cloud of gas and burning ashes that can be found only at the top of Mt.Etna. We're safe down here (~60Km from the volcano.)
@caar1970 at 1:27 I'm wiping ash from a tiled floor, not a car.
@Joxed My vespa can handle dirt very well. It's not unsafe if you drive slow like I did.

Massive sinkhole swallows a dozen trees

poolcleaner says...

I ain't a scientist but I have read a bit into this. Basically, a cavern forms underground beneath a body of water, or where water has seeped through. Over time the cavern gets bigger and bigger and bigger until it collapses and everything above it sinks down.

That's why videos of sinkholes occur by water or in a region with bayous, etc. I don't know about every type of sinkhole situation but this is the most common that I know of. (I lived in Florida and it happens a lot.) It's also possible for older pockets to exist where water once flowed, and then the earth just needed some change that eventually breaks the thin layer above.

Science, right? Everything is in a state of constant change. Eroding. Dissolving. Shifting. Sliding. ERUPTING. SWALLOWING. I'm talking about science now -- and not biology.

That is amazing. I'm trying to find out what the hell is going on there but my first thought is if I were those guys I'd be running!

Tornado Sirens in Chicago

chingalera says...

Each town and city in Illinois should sound their public address sirens every day at noon to remind her citizens how back-assward ignorant a whole shipload of their state's laws are compared to the rest of the United States....Although..This year, first week of July, Illinois finally allowed a concealed carry law (the last state to do so, btw), that after all the bullshit that erupted over this last school shooting. This from a state with a history of some of the worst organized crime (not unlike Chicago's current police force) and political fraud ever perpetrated by elected officials.

Obama's reasonable response to the NSA controversy

From the blog of David Simon (creator of the Wire)

Is it just me or does the entire news media — as well as all the agitators and self-righteous bloviators on both sides of the aisle — not understand even the rudiments of electronic intercepts and the manner in which law enforcement actually uses such intercepts? It would seem so.

Because the national eruption over the rather inevitable and understandable collection of all raw data involving telephonic and internet traffic by Americans would suggest that much of our political commentariat, many of our news gatherers and a lot of average folk are entirely without a clue.

You would think that the government was listening in to the secrets of 200 million Americans from the reaction and the hyperbole being tossed about. And you would think that rather than a legal court order which is an inevitable consequence of legislation that we drafted and passed, something illegal had been discovered to the government’s shame.

Nope. Nothing of the kind. Though apparently, the U.K.’s Guardian, which broke this faux-scandal, is unrelenting in its desire to scale the heights of self-congratulatory hyperbole. Consider this from Glenn Greenwald, the author of the piece: “What this court order does that makes it so striking is that it’s not directed at any individual…it’s collecting the phone records of every single customer of Verizon business and finding out every single call they’ve made…it’s indiscriminate and it’s sweeping.”

Having labored as a police reporter in the days before the Patriot Act, I can assure all there has always been a stage before the wiretap, a preliminary process involving the capture, retention and analysis of raw data. It has been so for decades now in this country. The only thing new here, from a legal standpoint, is the scale on which the FBI and NSA are apparently attempting to cull anti-terrorism leads from that data. But the legal and moral principles? Same old stuff.

I read some interesting commentary from Divid Simon. (creator of the show The Wire and a fairly knowledgable guy on the subject of wiretaps.)

Little girl gives herself a haircut

Kids: Too stupid to understand why you're supposed to regularly piss away a lot of time and money employing professionals to style the worthless dead skin erupting out of your head.

Doesn't this girl realise we live in a society of arbitrary ritual to which she is expected to conform at all times?

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

When I was in high school, I had a friend who could play Eruption about 3/4 of the way through. My job, during a party or whatever, was to rudely interrupt his playing right at just the right point - so people didn't realise he couldn't complete the song.

Man, being a teenager was pretty lame. @deathcow knows what I'm talking about.

Cargo Plane Falls Out Of The Sky

chingalera says...

This one must also and obviously recognize, given the audio unedited, the calm doggy, etc, that certain folks don't lose their shit when explosions or other such mahem erupts or arises from catastrophic FUBAR, given they're used to such a display in the regular day-to-day more than the most of us, fucking-off on the internet in our cushy podz....

CelebrateApathy said:

Obviously, there is sound with the video. How did the driver of that car avoid a "HOLY FUCK!" moment as this was happening? That guy must have really seen some shit over there if a cargo plane exploding in front of him barely elicits any emotion.
