Michael Cera kicks some ass

mentality says...

>> ^shuac:

Oh goodie. Another I'm-just-a-regular-guy superhero movie based on coloring books. Someone pinch me.

The comic books are actually pretty good. It's really about friendship, love, loss, and growing up. Brian Lee O'Malley (the comics' creator) has a knack for writing dialogue, and creating well characterized personalities and meaningful relationships. The fights are really a framing device that allows for the relationship between the two main character to evolve. The surreal videogame/superhero inspired sequences help give the series its quirky lighthearted feel.

Of course a 2 min trailer cannot convey the depth that really makes the comics special. I'm actually quite skeptical that Edgar Wright and Michael Cera can do the series justice, but this video is a good sign.

Count me in on the Edgar Wright fanboy train (hmmm, something about that phrasing just dosn't sound right... anyways) Wondering if there's going to be any Pegg/Frost cameo?

This looks to deliver on everything Kick-Ass didn't...and I liked Kick-Ass. Also directed by the guy who did Hot Fuzz, already a huge winner.

Edgar Wright

Hot fuzz, shaun of the dead, spaced, it has to be alright :]

Lewd Cat is Lewd

I see nothing has changed while I've been away and all is right with lolcat kingdom. Most cats give me an Edgar Allen Poe feeling, but this one in particular makes me want to gouge its eyes out. Go figure.

Thank you blanky, that was unexpectedly sweet of you I'll be back if my offline life suddenly takes a horrible turn for the worse, how about that

Take care now sugar, and a few deep breaths too!

I think KP was flirting with you. That cheeky bastard.

You will be missed. I do wish you'd reconsider and stay. We all want to leave at some point, and sometimes more often than others, but it's always best for us to stick around like that dysfunctional family where we bury our dead under the porch and slowly the place starts feeling like a bizarre Edgar Allen Poe short story. Stay.

Who will post those wonderful Mitchell & Webb vids? And who will completely ignore me when I get all huffy about government and gay shit like that? Stay.

Think it over. Word.

Gerald Celente on FOX - Obamageddon is coming!

EndAll says...

And next up we're going to resurrect Edgar Cayce from the dead. He'll give us his predictions of the end of the world as seen here in the Weekly World News! He's been accurate in the past.
Stay tuned!

Celente looks at numbers and trends.. not the eternal ether or whatever Cayce was into.

And he has been right before. He doesn't have any particular political leanings, as he describes it himself, he's a "political atheist."

He refers to facts, and I assume he calls it 'Obamageddon' is because it's happening under Obama. I am pretty sure he doesn't solely blame Obama himself but the economic policies undertaken by both the previous and current U.S. administration.
