Al Franken's Victory Speech

quantumushroom says...

On Election Day, Franken lost the U.S. Senate race in Minnesota to the Republican incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman by 725 votes.

Yet here we are with another election "miracle" from the commies and futtbucker soros.

Ah well, you get what you deserve Minnesota.

Coleman: GOP Needs To Compete On The "Ethernet"

rougy says...

Coleman is a slimeball from beginning to end.

Makes me question the mental fortitude of Minnesota if they could think that voting for this guy would be a good thing for the people, or our country, or the world for that matter.

He's half the man of his predecessor, and that's being generous.

And he's a liar to boot. The right-wing blogs and "think tanks" receive much more money than anybody on the left does.

And he loves Reagan! Oh, fuck yeah, we really needs us some more Reagan again.

Supply-side economics, more corporate control of our government, and escalated military spending.

Sure! Works every time!

Stop using Election08 / Archive Election 08 (Election Talk Post)

NetRunner says...

I agree, election08 shouldn't be used on events that happen post-election that have nothing to do with the election itself.

Updates on the Al Franken/Norm Coleman case are probably the only new events that would qualify, unless there's some revelation or retrospective about the 2008 election.

Question is, do we need an election2010 and 2012 already?

Three of the child stars ended up having problems after the show ended. Dana Plato went on to pose for Playboy, and also appeared in softcore films. She was later arrested twice (once for armed robbery, again for forging a prescription for Valium). She died of a drug overdose in 1999 at the age of 34.[2]
Todd Bridges was arrested in 1994 after allegedly ramming someone's car after an argument.[3] He also had issues with illegal drugs for several years, before turning his life around. He has since traveled across the U.S.A., touring schools discussing the dangers of drug use.[4]
In 1989, Gary Coleman sued his parents and his former manager over misappropriation of his trust fund. Although he was awarded over $1,000,000 in the decision, he filed for bankruptcy in 1999. Coleman was charged with assault in 1998 after he punched a woman while he was working as a security guard at a shopping mall. In 2001, Coleman (still working as a security guard) was videotaped trying to stop a vehicle from entering the mall. The driver ridiculed him, and released the tape to be broadcast on numerous television shows.[5] In the mid-2000s, Coleman lent his voice and likeness to the controversial videogame Postal2. In 2007, Coleman was cited for disorderly conduct in Provo, Utah for having a "heated discussion" with a woman.[6]

Judges In Minnesota Rule Al Franken Is U.S. Senate Winner

GDGD says...

Supposedly Coleman said at some point, something along the lines of "If I had less votes, then I would concede, I think Franken should do the same" (im paraphrasing im sure) Anyhow, someone should just play that for him (coleman) over and over and over

HOUSTON -- Houston guard Aubrey Coleman issued an apology Sunday after stepping on the face of Arizona player Chase Budinger during a game the previous day.

Coleman, a junior and the team's second-leading scorer, was ejected after stepping on Budinger's face following a charge call with 9:51 left in the second half. Arizona rallied for a 96-90 win in overtime.

"I want to apologize to Chase Budinger for what happened Saturday night. I never meant to step on him," Coleman said in a statement issued by the school. "I have never been in an incident like this before, and I have nothing but respect for him as a great player.

"I love the game too much to do something like that intentionally. I want to say I am sorry from the bottom of my heart," Coleman said. "I know that God knows what is in my heart, but I am hopeful that Chase will understand and forgive."

Houston coach Tom Penders said he regretted the incident but does not believe Coleman intentionally stepped on Budinger.

Don't look like he's not getting suspended any time soon. The punishment seems to be a public apology and a slap on the wrist.

"[Obama is] following in the same path of Abraham Lincoln; he will get his."

oh my, can you just imagine?

"The Assassination of Barack Obama, one of the last major events in an American Civil Society, took place on Good Friday, April 14, 2009, when President Barack Obama was shot while attending a performance of 'Our Kenyan Cousin' at the Apollo Theater with his wife and two guests, 2Pac and Biggy Smalls. Obama's assassin, former child actor and Neo-Con sympathizer, Gary Coleman, after leaping to the stage from the President's box was heard to shout, "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?"

Ann Coulter is a Miserable Harpie

For instance, he is willing to accept on faith that Franken stole the election, without evidence, yet has no problem ignoring the mountain of evidence against Bush in 2000.

Coleman was ahead by HOW many HUNDREDS of votes when the election ended? But wait, it didn't end until Franken had enough "duplicate" votes. Dems tried similar tactics in 2000 to "extend" the election, in essence changing the rules as they went along, but were stopped cold.

Seems like a lot of Democrats can only win by stealing elections and end terms with their arrests. And THIS is the best they got while facing a weak Republican Party!

He complains about 'Obsama' (how classy) spending 'all your money' and increasing the size of government before the man has even been sworn in, while somehow forgetting the two greatest big government spenders in US history: Reagan and Bush.

Fuct tho he is, Bush still won't outspend Obsama. Reagan slashed taxes only to have the fktard DEMOCRAT-controlled Congress spend like drunken sailors.

Victicrats are the party of irresponsibility and stealing from the haves (who worked for their earnings) to buy the votes of the ignorant have-nots. Take the socialist commie crap over to Europe. It won't work here.

Tomorrow, the 111th Congress Gets Sworn In... (Election Talk Post)

"So, likely tomorrow we'll already see sparks fly as Democrats seek to block the seating of one of their own for ethical reasons, while the Republicans seek to block a legally elected member of the opposing party for their usual self-serving reasons."
This is so partisan that it could be straight out of Simpsons..

Perhaps, but reality has a well-known liberal bias.

You could argue that Dems are blocking Burris for self-serving political reasons too, since they're just worried about the public concern over the ethical questions about seating him...but I'm thinking that's a pretty partisan viewpoint. They're doing it because of ethical concern, and whether it's heartfelt, or just because they're worried about the public's reaction isn't something you could ever prove or disprove.

The Franken case, is entirely different. There has been an exhaustive, bipartisan effort in Minnesota to conduct this recount fairly. Nearly all the key decisions that led to the result we have today were done by unanimous decision by a bipartisan elections board, or with unanimous decisions from the state's supreme court. Coleman's own lawyer says that it is unlikely they would be able to overturn the current results, and non-partisan analysis of his claims (all of which have already been struck down by the MN Supremes or the election board by unanimous decision) make it unlikely that a court would settle the case in a way that would be beneficial enough to Coleman to overtake Franken's final 225 vote lead.

As it turns out, we were relatively spark free today, Franken didn't show up at all, and Burris was turned away with only minor incident.

I still expect sparks on both of these in the near future, though.

I agree, that's why I spend all my non-sift time campaigning to get more people to realize the sky is really yellow.

We've gotta put an end to this blue-sky majority.

And don't get me started on the radical Round-Earth agenda. They're almost as bad as the Heliocentrists.
