Scary encounter with Mountain Lion cubs and mom

BSR says...

I took a 2,500 mile mountain bike trip back in 2011. I was aware of the problem of loose dogs chasing bikes. With two saddlebags strapped to my bike with my belongings I knew I would not be able to outrun a Chihuahua let alone a pitbull, German shepherd or a bear.

I carried an air horn from Walmart that I attached to the bike with Velcro for a quick grab. I had no less than 7 dogs surprise me during my trip. The air horn was very effective in showing them who's boss. Their ears fold back and their tail tucked between their legs while running in the opposite direction.

Even if a dog managed to grab me, I doubt it would be able to withstand the hurt it would inflict blasting in its ear at close range.

Edit: I'm assuming no one thought I would shove the air horn in the dogs butt.

Maybe not even a gun but a loud horn would be enough

Border Collie Saves Chihuahua from Being Run over by Car

wtfcaniuse says...

Doesn't walk like a puppy but also the shape of the head and muzzle size is a giveaway that it's not a border collie pup and probably a chihuahua or similar.

Doesn't look at all like a border collie pup to me.

Like the yt comments say, looks more like a border collie pup than a chihuahua.

How To Exercise With Cats

Take it from me, you are correct.
I had a 102 lb shepherd with spine problems. The last year+ of his life he had to be helped to stand...and I also have a (twice) broken back. It really ruined me helping him for over a year, and I'll never get a large dog again because of it. (sniff)
At least work your way up from Chihuahuas before you go for the big dog, or you'll regret it! Done right, those dogs could really PUMP... (clap...point)... YOU UP!! ;-)

Crazy Goat Lick-Attacking A Bored Dog

chingalera says...

Oh man no-Airedales?? Another on the list of dogs you never see the full potential of in the U.S. because the average folks who own 'em never allow them to realize their bred potential. Ten notches above the Dalmatian on the sharp list with horrifying breath and that stinky, oily stank you can't wash off. Known plenty of Airedales and would rather not.

They can be quirky fun sometimes though, like a kid yer glad belongs to someone else.

I don't sleight anyone's preference for doggies unless it's a toy poodle or a a chihuahua fixation, abused to roam the shared space of humans without any manners.

What SHOULD my look be there newt, huh?

How dare you deride the noble breed of Airedale Terriers!?!
Once again, sir, you can only deride that which you don't know. It's not a good look.
