Are we sure this isn't photo manipulation? I was willing to buy that maybe they were on some sort of migration.

But when all their little heads when up at the same time?

Not sure I buy it.

Cool video. Just may not be nature.

I expect Captain Obvious to show up now and school me on my naivety.

Zack Snyder Fundamenal Flaw(Batman v Superman) - Nerdwriter

sixshot says...

I don't have the sense to break down a movie for the quality of the scenes and moments. But I do know when a movie sucks or has trouble trying to deliver a story. And what I saw wasn't much of a story at all. There were too many things that were way out there that seem to fall into place or was forced to be there because either WB or Snyder wanted it to be there. In this case, Wonder Woman.

I also saw the portrayed character of the supposed Lex Luthor and found that has an overreaching intelligence network that should not have included the identities of various other "meta-humans." And the way he plotted all of his schemes reminds me too much of Joker.

For me, the simple conclusion I came to after watching this movie is that it didn't flow well. Things just go from one spot to another to another and there's nothing in between to tell us the details. Wasn't a lot of movie time spent on dealing with the politics of Superman? At least Captain America: Civil War got the execution right when it comes to politics (that being, the heroes have to be held accountable for their actions).

Star Trek: Bridge Crew Trailer

entr0py says...

As cool of an idea as that is, they would need to be really creative with the gameplay to make it fun for everyone in the long run. In the shows most of what the bridge crew does is:

1. Captain tells you what to do, you punch it into the controls.

2. You relay something on your screen to the captain.

3. Goto 1.

I'll love it if they make that into a fun multiplayer game. But I think a safer bet would be just making a single player game where you are the captain and make all the important decisions while good actors feed you information.

I'll agree with everyone on TYT. I like the message, but the delivery needs work.

Captain Disillusion. I enjoy debunking, but the persona and gimmick makes it hard to watch most of the time.

Thunderf00t. I enjoyed him for awhile, especially his Creationist debunking era, but then something happened and I just can't do his videos most of the time. Partly it was his stance on elevator gate, which he just pushed and pushed endlessly, but he seemed to just go off after that whole incident. I don't mind the opinion, I disagree, but he just wouldn't let it go... and never got back to what he originally was doing.

Oh and yeah, Angry Videogame Nerd I agree with. Way too much fluff...

Markplier. My kids love him, so my suggestion box is full of him for a few days after every other weekend. I love Twitch and stuff like that, but I don't find his personality at all enjoyable. He's a Pew De Pie wannabe and I can't stand Pew either.

Earthling Cinema... no. Just no. Another annoying personality, I just don't get the appeal.

Speaking of cinema related ones, Cinema Sins. They give 50 or 60, and really only a third or so actually count, even on movies I hated. I appreciate critique but I don't know, I normally can't watch a full episode.

I'll agree with others about mean spirited pranks. Truth distorters, especially when it is for financial, political or religious gain, which I guess is most of those types.

Joshua Feuerstein is a perfect example of the above.

People doing videos in cars, even if parked... there are exceptions to that, like the guy who does carpool karaoke, but most others...

Guy on the street type videos. It's been a format around for too long. How many people did you have to edit out to get a few idiots? Occasionally they'll show one person who knows among 8 others.

When otherwise smart science channels like SciShow and the like use the word "theory" in the common sense of the term and not the scientific use. It continues to distort the public image of the word. They come to a science channel, see it used where they should be using hypothesis. If they want to keep it simple and use guess or ideas. Just don't use the word theory until it's a more accepted theory. This way people don't keep saying "it's just a theory" on actual facts like the big bang, evolution, human accelerated climate change, etc.

STAR TREK BEYOND Official Trailer #2 (2016)

FlowersInHisHair says...

First Contact has three unforgivable flaws.

1. The time travel plot makes zero sense. Why do the Borg need to go back to that particular time to assimilate humanity? Why don't they go back to pre-WW3, where there were a) more humans to assimilate and b) lower tech weapons? Why do they need to interrupt the moment of humanity's first contact with the Vulcans? Why do they give themselves such a tiny margin of error by only giving themselves a few days to assimilate Earth before the deadline? Why don't they send Borg down to begin assimilating humanity straight away? And the Enterprise conceals itself from the Vulcans by hiding behind the fucking moon.

2. The writers fundamentally ruin the idea of the Borg by giving it a figurehead it doesn't need. They are not a collective if they have a Queen; they are subjects.

3. Worst of all, Picard's characterisation is a complete volte face. Seven seasons of the TV show proved that Picard just isn't a man who stoops to revenge. Only a year or so after recovering from his own assimilation, Picard has the chance to cripple or destroy the Borg forever and he doesn't take it, because he's a man of balance and pragmatism, not of blind rage. His sudden change into Captain Ahab is lazy and it's unearned. Picard, like everything else in the film, is dumbed-down for the sake of the action, and the character as written undermines the work done over the course of the TV series, amputates him from Roddenberry, and is frankly unworthy of being performed by Patrick Stewart.

Star Trek: First Contact is fucking dumb.

Of course I have to concede to subjectivity and some of the action is very exciting (if still stupid; the "no firing at the deflector dish oh except when you do" incident is a prime example). But it's only possible to enjoy it as an action movie if you like your action movies to appeal to the very lowest common denominator.

I don't think it's fair to say that First Contact was as dumb as you say it was.
