Glenn Beck on the End Game: The New World Order

volumptuous says...

Glenn has a great way with completely mangling things to make his point.

At no point has either "China" or "France" suggested there should be one world currency. For Glenn to suggest as much (oh, conveniently leaving out any source or reference point) means he's either lying, or uninformed.

My guess is, both.

Because what he's talking about is the IMF forum from a few days ago, titled "One World, One Currency. Destination or Delusion?".

The forum was about pros and cons of such an issue, with economists from Columbia, Berkeley, and elsewhere. It was a "what if" forum, not some illuminati gathering of evil, leftist overlords who are ready to create a new world order.

These were fucking professors, not politicians!

Glenn Beck, once again, a total douchebag with only one goal: lying through his teeth to rile people up.

If you'd like to read what Glenn was lying about:

Unfortunately it looks like not. I tried a couple things to see if I could get it to work, but no luck.

As far as pressuring them, I guess the most you could do is send an email, but who knows how much that'll help. Sorry!

I just found this site, but they have some funky embed. Any way to fix it or pressure them to get us usable embeds?

Marian Diamond: wonderful FREE Berkeley anatomy lecture

She was my anatomy professor when I was at Berkeley 25 years ago and she is still rocking! Amazing! I was one of the lucky few who got to have lunch with her at the Faculty Club. She still inspires me after all these years.

Berkeley In The Sixties

Berkeley In The Sixties

quantumushroom says...

In the 60s all these supposed radicals stood in defiance of crewcut anti-communists.

Now Berkeley is a bastion of communism and near-communism. I wouldn't call that a win.

I done been there many times; streets around the campus swamped with filthy arrogant bums demanding money.

Parallel Universes DO Exist. I kid you not.

andybesy says...

With reference to well known the double slit experiment, where an interference patrern is observed, I quote from the video: "Scientists say that this is only possible if the particle exists in different universes". That's rubbish. This experiment demonstrates the wave-particle duality of quantum mechanics; that matter behaves both as a wave and as particle; two aspects of a singular nature. I'm all for pop-science, but I can't tolerate junk science like this. It's harmful and it's condescending. I can't believe that this is anything other than intentionally misleading.

It's a shame how few documentaries do science justice. I'd recommend a good book: "Quantum Physics: A Beginner's Guide" by Alastair Rae if you can handle a little math, or "Deep Down Things, The Breathtaking Beauty of Particle Physics" by Bruce Schumm, which I'm reading currently and which is nothing short of brilliant.

Oh, and here is a great tip! If you like watching science videos, check out Professor Muller's "Physics for Future Presidents" web-casts (also known as "A Descriptive Introduction to Physics). These are video taped lectures from caltech. The dude rocks, he explains everything very clearly and he's a lot of fun to boot:

that horse is skeletal, j. done beating it?

Actually if someone assassinated Hitler the axis powers might have fared better. Hitler's incompetence led to the defeat at Stalingrad.

The Sift THRIVES on it, like a hungry mollusk.

I too applaud drunken sifting and this take on the opposition to the *waronterror on *latenight.
