Yep, I actually said to myself, "strippers..." at one point, which sucks.

I'm torn between being sick of culture that objectifies women, and understanding women's right to objectify themselves.

The other thought I had while watching was: How would the crowd react to a ballet routine?

What I took from this.... to the untrained ignorant eye (i.e. mine) it's kinda hard to tell the difference between really good ballet dancers and people pretending to be ballet dancers on the street.

It doesn't matter if it's an incumbent or the challenger. Voting out all incumbents who don't represent the people for challengers who also don't is simply shuffling the deck. Influence party nominations the get it candidates on the ballet who do, and vote for the best candidates, even when you have to choose between crappy ones to register the fact you do vote.

All those things help.

Anyone who thinks the phrase "Throw like a girl" is an insult to girls has entirely missed the point.

Take a look at professional male versus female ballet dancers. The biological differences are quite plain to see. Generally speaking women move in a more graceful manner than men (it's one of the many reasons why we are attracted to women). These biological differences in movement, thought, behaviour, strength etc are what sets us apart. It's a plus that they're made that way.

Saying "You throw like a girl" is not an insult to women. The meaning isn't "You're inferior, like women". The phrase is an insult to a fellow male, quite simply saying "you're not as strong or masculine" as I am. It's the same as saying to a guy, "you dance like a girl". We love the way girls dance, but to say that to a fellow guy is an insult to them, not to women. As childish as it may seem, that's what we do. We compete with one another on that superficial level. It's a simple yet important difference in understanding what the intention of the phrase is.

i am not dismissing the horrific violence perpetrated by "terrorists".
what i AM dismissing is the "lesser of two evils" premise.

because it is hypocrisy on steroids.

they can point to the dead,tortured and beheaded to justify their own brand of violence.

and it still would not change the fact that the reasons behind normal people turning to fundamentalist,reactionary violent groups can be found at our own feet.

this is the part of the equation that so many people i talk to seem to either willingly or unwittingly...ignore.

responsibility lies at the feet of those who created this violent ballet,just as it does with those who perpetrate the violence.

its like you hitting me in the face everyday at school and one day i hit you back.

and you run to the principle and cry to have me arrested for hitting you in the face with a bat.
ignoring the fact you had been violent with me for many days prior.

My point exactly. Nothing THAT big, assuming that children can't memorize things like that is just ignorant. Children are much more able to concentrate on things they truly love than any adult that's ever existed, and it's usually even more the case with autistic people.

My point exactly. Nothing THAT big, assuming that children can't memorize things like that is just ignorant. Children are much more able to concentrate on things they truly love than any adult that's ever existed, and it's usually even more the case with autistic people.
