A dead squirrel ain't shit. I used to shoot these things with a bb gun when I was a kid. Some people get paid to kill them. My grandfather was paid to kill a cute fluffy bunny infestation while my aunt (then 6) waited in the car watching. My girlfriend's father was paid to kill cat infestations when he lived in Vietnam. The internet simultaneously made everyone smart and stupid as fuck. (I love animals, but I also devour their flesh with no sympathy. Have you ever watched your cat kill a bird? Now that's cruelty.)

I would say it did that because it's a BB gun and it fires copper-coated steel BB's rather than an airsoft gun which fires plastic airsoft pellets. The only BB gun I've ever seen that wouldn't do this at this range is the one my dad has had since he was 6, which is not exactly in top working order these days.

Looks like an air pistol rather than a BB gun. Same in principle, but in practice quite a lot more powerful, and shoots lead pellets, probably 2.2 in this case.

Same for me. Never gave it much Zen, got a marksmen medal in the Navy too. I think shooting BB guns since I was 7 is where the real skill came from - this seems like over-thinking.

Why didn't someone have a gun? Even a slingshot or BB gun would deter the deer.

This deer was in overly protective mode... it's a natural instinct. In a populated neighborhood it's a dangerous situation. A person could have been equally hurt or even killed.

I love this movie! Except for when they kill off the red rider BB gun kid. This artsy fartsy stuff is awesome.
