Colorado Supreme Court Declares Trump Ineligible For Office

newtboy says...

😂 Ahhhh….more internet lawyering from the team that’s lost every court case in the last 4 years. Next you’ll post Haba explaining how it’s all highly illegal democratic political skulduggery, thinking she knows what she’s talking about despite her abysmal track record. 😂
Good luck with that…how’s it been working for you?
🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔

As usual, you are projecting.

That’s IF.

The Supreme Court ignoring the rights given to the states in the constitution to even take the case, much less ignoring it altogether to save Trump is the pipe dream….but considering the hyper partisan absurdly corrupt nature of the Trump court appointees and their cronies, of all things MAGA in fact, anything is possible. They just might be that dumb and anti American, they are absolutely that corrupt.
Remember, if they say it’s legal for Trump to direct a crowd to stop election proceedings, it’s legal for Biden, and he still has pardon powers to keep his insurrectionists out of prison.

But if not, no problem, since it’s totally 100% fake news nothingburgers, just get congress to override it (since specifically only they can, not courts)…or just ignore it and write in Daddy Trump, then claim fraud when he loses.

For you, recognize anyone? https://videosift.com/video/The-Infamous-Epstein-List-Is-About-To-Be-Released

Colorado Supreme decision is just a bump for Trump to get to the Supreme Court

When this goes to the US Supreme Court - a final decision will be made.

This is still a nothing burger -- just a wet dream for the left.

A Definitely True Message From George Santos

newtboy says...

You say both sides because you can not admit your team is based on pure criminality and Democrats are not, proven by their track records in court where more administration MAGgots have been convicted of more crimes against the state than in all administrations combined throughout American history and very few Democrats have even been charged with crimes in recent decades, much less convicted.

Democrats have never tried to illegally take office by force and fraud, Trump and MAGA did.

You don’t have a single example of a dem that’s 10% as dishonest and criminal as the average MAGgot. If you did, you wouldn’t ever stop posting about them.

You bother to post volumes of nonsense you know will be debunked and dismissed, what could possibly be different about proving Democratic criminality? Why is THAT not important enough for you, but defending Elon is? Insulting Pelosi is. Defending Jan 6 traitors is. Making up nonsense about BLM and ANTIFA is. 🤦‍♂️

bobknight33 said:

I say both sides because it is both sides. You just so biased that you done even see it.

I dont bother to post because whats the point - you will just dismiss it an its just not worth the time.

Ivermectin Is Now OK To Treat COVID

newtboy says...

While I understand the appeal, I think it’s dangerous to ban people for their political/religious/societal beliefs, no matter how disgusting, evil, or dangerous they might be in practice. Who gets to decide whose opinion is unacceptable?
Also, it drives the unacceptable into the shadows where they can plot in secrecy and surprise attack, which I find more dangerous….not that we have a good track record of being prepared for attacks we have warning for. (Jan 6).
I would much rather at least have an opportunity to know what they’re planning ahead of time, even at the cost of suffering through the stupid.

I do think spreading dangerous public health misinformation is another story.

Tesla is Crushing GM & Ford Financially

newtboy says...

So, they’re only $6 billion in the hole and are just getting competition from the big 3.
Where’s that Tesla truck?
Stock/corporate value dropped by over half in the last year.

Tesla is under multiple criminal investigations for self driving autopilot failures causing deaths….a main selling point that may be outlawed soon.

Tesla made more profit because they reinvested much less….multiple billions less. Not a good sign in an industry based on engineering advancements. Sounds like they know a hammer is coming and are going for maximizing short term profit at the expense of long term viability.
Their massive capitol expenditures were largely losses at their plants they can’t get to profitable production levels yet, like China, not building more gigafactories. If the highly automated factories (explaining the higher profit per employee despite fewer vehicles produced per employee) you have can’t get parts to make cars, making more factories would be stupid. GM and Ford are building newer highly automated factories, and have cut in line at Chinese chip manufacturers because they order more chips. Supply shortages continue to plague Tesla.

Sorry, Bob, your track record of investment advice is horrendous. You said go all in on Tesla at $400! You said buy more and hold onto it for the long term as it plunged to 135 and as you were selling yours. Now you claim Tesla is crushing GM and Ford while it’s still DEEP in debt and losing customers and not reinvesting in itself. Couldn’t be you’re lying for personal gain….could it?

Some Big Moments From The Jan 6 Hearings So Far

luxintenebris says...

don't understand the HB thing? is that all they have?

- he didn't plan, orchestrate and carry out a riot
- he didn't egg on homicidal idiots
- he didn't break a solemn oath
- he didn't try to circumvent the Constitution

don't really know 'cause the Red said he did - and their track record is notoriously lousy.

- all those GOP-led investigations, were a waste of time/money, and couldn't even get a slap-on-the-wrist for Hillary (nothing burger)
- those emails and a laptop - and nothing on the burger
- a 10yr rape victim disbelieved and a good doctor slandered

...with oodles of other rabid dog attacks w/only the Red getting red in the face: anger - instead of the earned shame.

also find it galling that they go after joe's kid, yet cheer on 'their' crime family. PROVEN crime family. rather go after the big dogs than some pup.

when they have a case, bring it to trial and NOT get tossed in SIX hours - what a nothing burger w/a side order of bagatelle - then it might be worth a look. (rather see Manchin's gals go to the gaol)

if this was a Lifetime movie, Hunter would help Jr get off coke.

Bernie Convinces Republicans He’s Right

newtboy says...

You can’t be that dumb.

1) these rich people pay our “leaders” to write unfair tax code so they can not pay taxes. Legalized by Republican pushes to allow unlimited corporate donations and bribes. In many cases, they DO in fact write the code, then hand it to those “leaders”.
2) these “leaders” writing tax loopholes for the super rich, all Republicans, are also rich people, legislating for personal gain.

If the top 1% made 80% of all income, they underpayed by more than half if flat tax were the law or in any way fair. In the 50’s, the time period conservatives want to return to, the top 1% paid 91% tax rates, and America was booming. Today it’s actually <24% and you whine.
How much did they pay AFTER their last massive tax cut, much less than 40%….not that I’m taking your word for those statistics, you are hardly a trustworthy source, the actual number in 2018 is 37% of personal income taxes, which ignores a lions share of non income taxes we all pay.

If you count ALL federal taxes, they payed <24% of taxes collected.
Their highest income tax rate for the rich was +-25% (before deductions, exemptions, loopholes, tax heavens, etc), 66% less than in the 50’s. Under Clinton they paid almost 40% income tax (not 24%), and the economy was again much stronger and growing much faster.

Edit: it was possibly the highest share of that portion of federal taxes paid by the top 1% since 1982, although your track record indicates that’s also a huge exaggeration, but if it’s even remotely true that would be because they took (not really earned) that much more income, not because they paid a higher percentage of earnings. In the 90’s they paid 40%, not today’s 25%…yet today they pay more….can you understand what that means? It means they take almost twice as much “income” as they did in the 90’s when the economy was strong.

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/fact-check-richest-1-dont-pay-40-of-the-taxes.html

Republicans are ALL stupid people who do not think, proven every time they are forced to think and realize they have everything backwards. You idiots think Covid is a fraud, the election was stolen, and CRT in grade school is a thing.

Such a nonsensical blatant red herring. They often do “just write a check to the irs” btw. I’m not rich, but I don’t take deductions I legally could because I want to pay my share, not weasel out of it. That’s called being patriotic, not attacking congress and shirking any and all civic duties.
Pushing for a fair tax code, unlike Republicans who plan to raise taxes on anyone making under $250k AND end social security, Medicaid, Medicare, and any other social safety nets they can think of, is not just the ethical and moral thing, it’s the only sane economic move based on ALL economic history ever.

Right, stop wasting, like billions wasted on useless monuments to failure (Trump’s failing fence), trillions more on stupid failed trade wars, billions on political stunts like blockading the border (Texas), trillions to try to fix the disastrous Covid (lack of) response thanks to insane mismanagement and the removal of safeguards, billions to fight the non existent CRT in grade school nonsense…etc. you are ecstatic to waste billions-trillions on idiotic Republican nonsense with absolutely zero return for the money, not complaining once while Trump tried to double the debt in 4 years (nearly succeeding), but not on programs that keep the poor from turning to crime because they have literally nothing to lose, or start to fix our crumbling infrastructure, you call that pork. 🤦‍♂️

So fucking stupid, bob. Delusional, dumb, prejudiced, and always wrong. You must be playing the character of ignorant moronic trumptard, no real human being is this deluded or dumb. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, you are like a clock specifically designed to NEVER show the correct time….you actively avoid being truthful.

bobknight33 said:

Rich people do pay their fair share. Its called tax code. They did not write the code our Leaders did.
So don't bitch at rich people, bitch at our leaders

According to the latest IRS data for 2018— the top 1 percent of taxpayers paid $616 billion in income taxes. That amounts to 40 percent of all income taxes paid, the highest share since 1980..

Just proves republicans also have stupid people who do not think .

Worse yet is that there are leaders who believe this false narrative also. They are themselves rich.. If they are so moved into paying their fair share why don't they just write a check to the IRS.

Better yet is to quit spending money on shit we don't need with money we don't have.

Abbot Claims Prosecuting Rape Will Eradicate Rape In Texas

newtboy says...

Turns out there is a backlog of well over 5200 rape kits in Texas that are awaiting testing, and over 230 police departments that didn't report how big their backlog is, so that number could easily be doubled or more.

Hard to believe he's a bit serious about stopping rapes in Texas considering his track record on getting them investigated or prosecuted, and that he hasn't requested any more funding for testing kits or investigating rapes to go along with this attack against rape victims.

TX 'Ballot Chaser' Illegally Pressures Voters To Change Vote

TX attorney general is now investigating her.

The above news story links to scribd document from Raquel Rodriguez where she said she was playing along with suspicious people (turned out to be Project Veritas). Seems kinda dumb to "play along" and incriminate yourself multiple times saying "this is illegal".

Given Veritas' track record, they aren't credible source, but if this lady did half the things claimed in the video, she's going to jail.

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean ( cover by Donald Trump )

newtboy says...

Yeah, I know, facts are for lefty liberals. Don't suppose you can point to 3 mistakes Snopes has made, or any they didn't correct, can you? (Not conservative nonsense opinion, factual mistakes.)

Who told you that? They dropped >10% in one day because their earnings reports came out, and we're dismal (because they're reeling from Russian incursions on both platforms costing them billions to finally address), as were future projected earnings....not because they finally started blocking identified Russian conservative trolls.

For someone claiming to not be on FB or Twitter you have a track record of spreading the nonsense they both spout, often on the day these conservative Twitter/Facebook campaigns begin. You're pretty in the loop to be outside it.

Question....what is your Cheeto in chief doing to stop the Russians from interfering again this time, seeing as they've already been caught trying to hack American companies, organizations, government officials, and voting machines this year? Nothing yet, nada, according to the heads of the departments that should be spearheading our efforts. No direction at all from the Whitehouse on this issue, only constant public contradiction of their findings with no basis for that contradiction.

bobknight33 said:

And I use snopes as the fact check. That like letting Russia do our Election vote count.

FYI. I don’t twitter not FB.

FYI FB stock dropped 20% This week. When the report came out that they blocked conservative. By 93%. But any leftist lie is ok.

Turkish T129 ATAK helicopters conducting a drill

Afghanistan has a pretty damn good track record of fighting off larger military invaders while being equipped with lower tech firepower.

It almost sounds like you are arguing for allowing civilians to have access to equivalent military weaponry so we can stand a chance if our government goes rogue.

newtboy said:

That makes the argument entirely without merit once you admit they are useless against governments, who have armies, tanks, aircraft, armed drones, missiles, and far more.

Modern warfare is just not winnable by civilians....particularly here in America. The only possible way to win is convince the military to not fight you, and using guns against them makes that impossible.

John Oliver - Parkland School Shooting

MilkmanDan says...

@SDGundamX -- I agree completely that any registration / licensing system would have to be central / federal to do any good. I'm also, like you, pretty pessimistic about anything actually happening.

These kids will be a smaller direct annoyance (to NRA-funded legislators) for a shorter time than "occupy". That doesn't mean they are wasting their time though. The people that they can sway are moderate republican voters. I think "common sense" things like registration and licensing could be sold to enough people to put some pressure on republican reelection chances. On the other hand, there's the NRA and other lobbying organizations with a proven track record and nearly unlimited resources to muck up the works.

I dunno. I'm quite pessimistic about chances, but I do hope we're wrong.

The Truth About The Tesla Semi-Truck

MilkmanDan says...

The video is right that pretty much the number one most important question is the weight of the truck (basically tare weight, which is actually the tractor plus empty trailer). When I watched the announcement, I thought Musk was slightly cagey about that, but I thought that he said that it would be in the ballpark of a normal ICE semi. Guess I should watch again.

I think Musk made some semi-optimistic predictions about battery tech improvement and economy of scale. Frankly, I think he's earned the right to be semi-bold with his predictions, given his and Tesla's track record (paying off govt. loan very early, single handedly pushing forward battery tech and production, etc. etc.). His optimistic predictions have a tendency of panning out.

The average American is never going to switch to an electric car purely or even largely for "green conscious" reasons. The switch will happen when the electric car is better than the ICE alternatives in concrete metrics like performance, reliability, and operating cost. Musk is pushing that date forward at an incredible pace. Arguably it is already true for many use-cases at the high price-point range of the Model S, but that price point limits the scope of the impact quite a bit. He knows that to really shake things up, he's got to get that price point down, and he knows that to do that he's got to improve the economy of scale on battery tech. Which he's doing by expanding it into adjacent markets like home batteries, etc.

I think he deserves a lot of credit for "walking the walk" when it comes to working hard to protect/improve the environment, as opposed to Al Gore et al. "talking the talk".

Vox: The growing North Korean nuclear threat, explained

MilkmanDan says...

Not the *only* thing.

We also don't invade if you don't have anything we want, or if you can't be exploited as a pawn in a proxy war.

N. Korea doesn't have anything we want, so they would generally be safe on that account. On the other hand, the Korean War (particularly support from China, Russia, and the US) was very much tied into early and continuing Capitalism vs Communism proxy wars wherein those major players downplayed direct confrontation (why the Cold War was cold) but were quite happy to ramp things up indirectly.

Things frequently don't go real well for countries tied up in that history. We arm Afghanistan to indirectly prod the USSR, decades later that comes back to bite us and we hit them back with a rather disproportionate degree of destruction. The USSR sets Cuba up as a potential proxy Communist threat to the US, which pushes us pretty close to nuclear war. Fortunately we avoided that, but the fallout for Cuba in trade sanctions etc. persists to this day. And on and on.

So I concur, N. Korea has plenty of reasons to see the US as the bad guys. Personally, I think Obama's strategy of patience was probably the best. Either they are full of hot air and won't ever actually do anything, or they'll eventually do something so provocative that China will have no choice but to withdraw that lifeline. In the meantime, N. Korean people are the ones suffering the most. Not much to be done about that, because the US has an even worse track record when it comes to interfering "to save the people of {wherever} from their terrible leaders"...

eric3579 said:

It seems to me having nukes is the ONE thing that holds off America from potential invasion/war with other countries. Why wouldn't you develop nukes? North Korea aint going out there destroying countries and killing hundreds of thousands. America is the empire building terror nation not North Korea. Why are they such the bad guys? I assume they would rather not be invaded and destroyed.
