I haven't owned a console since my Atari 2600! I still like computers because I want to do more than gaming! I can even get addons, hacks, etc. for computer games.
I don't play much games these days though. I even play more games (Duolingo, Propel, Lengendary (just started last night!), etc.) in my iPhone than my PC these days! They are short and turn based.
I gave up on that decades ago, I play consoles now and never looked back.
Coleco Mini-Arcade 1982 Handheld Games Commercial
Like Atari 2600?
My dad bought me the PacMan one at one point. I was pretty underwhelmed with arcade games back then, and had more fun with the home consoles.
Prince of Persia Classic Comparison
Too bad it never came out to other systems. I haven't had a console since Atari 2600.
Oh, what?! I never knew that 2.5D remake for the Xbox 360 even existed! It looks pretty awesome, actually.
Wonder if I can still find it somewhere...
Thanks Ant
SSL Now Enforced Site-Wide (Sift Talk Post)
videosift.com is advertising 2600:3c00::f03c:91ff:fe70:f3af as its IPv6 address. However, that address is not listening on 443. So either don't advertise IPv6 or enable ssl on it.
Additionally, your current configuration supports SSLv3 protocol, which is old and insecure and should be disabled. And some other sub-optimal settings.
Check out https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=videosift.com
Consider updating your OpenSSL library and configuring nginx as shown at https://cipherli.st/
And please make sure you have some sort of automated way to renew letsencrypt cert since it's only for 3 months.
Nope, none at all if I"m being honest.
...
It's incredible that it's so easy to create an SSL certificate supported in most browsers now (and for free!) - good times.
Creating the Worst Video Game of All Time
In defence of E.T, The Extraterrestrial, although not a particularly good game it wasn't the worst game ever for the Atari 2600. It really did contribute to Atari's downfall though, since Atari management ordered 5 million copies of the cartridge (of which 3.5 million ended up being returned).
Snopes has a pretty good article on the subject - http://www.snopes.com/business/market/atari.asp
20 Games That Defined the Texas Instruments TI-99/4(A)
Nice. I was gaming since Atari 2600 and arcade games at maybe 5? And then my gaming mojos started to go down like a decade ago. These days, I just play Uno, Junkyard, etc. in IRC. Ha.
BTW, you can play these TI99/4A and other systems' games in MAME these days since MESS merged over a year ago.
Well yeah, just naming my favs. Amazing watching that, then playing Fallout 4 in 3-D tonight. Been gaming since I was like, 2.
The Monster 6502 is a giant version of a famous microchip
I was surprised at how many people other than myself were interested in this one. I thought I'd get two votes tops.
The comment above this one explains our interest, this is the chip that powered the computers (Pet, vic-20/vc-20, c64, Apple II) and game consoles (Atari 2600, NES) of our childhood.
The OTHER chip that would have attracted some interest is the Zilog Z-80, which was the 80s equivalent of the arduino (but also, earlier, used in computers like the TRS-80 and gameboy and...). The minimum required to use that chip for a project was a 9v battery and an eeprom, and at one point they cost about a dollar, so they were used for everything.
It's not hard to be swept up in his obvious fascination with the subject matter, but man... that's soooo boring sounding.
Let's Compare ( Classic Pac-Man )
I have been visiting that "Let's Compare" channel like over a year so far. I remember those table tops.
Also, I recently saw these other reviews:

Oh, I was an Atari 2600 player!
I had some nostalgia fever recently and ran across these "Let's Compare" videos a day before seeing your Pac-Man homebrew submission, so I had to post this.
Had you not seen that channel before? Between YouTube and emulators it's fun to revisit the old favourites, and the ones you may have missed. Can you guess which company I was a fan of way back when?
Almost forgot to mention I had that Pac-Man table top game they show at the end.
CRASH: The Year Video Games Died
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
Was just playing VCS games today. I have to say that 2600 version of Ms. Pacman was a vast improvement, but too little too late I guess.
Quantic Dream's DETROIT Announce Trailer—Kara Is Back!
bah sony exclusive...

only console ive ever owned was an atari 2600, then I got a trs-80, moved to Tandy 1000 EX, and every couple years a new pc even the ORIGINAL PS2 made by IBM in the 80's. I'm getting old. Been a PC gamer since age 11, I turned 39 last month.
But Quantic Dream stuff is pretty awesome.
I've never been a fan of Walled Gardens
EVERYTHING is Faster, Yes? (User Poll by lucky760)
Along with Payback, I too am running into oddities accessing the site. For me, it appears to be browser based.
Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox, it works fine. Opera, my preferred browser, has stopped working with the videosift address. The cdn version or direct IP routes work fine.
The ipv4 address matches, and I've yet to acknowledge ipv6 but I'll assume it's accurate
videosift.com -> 2600:3c00::f03c:91ff:fe70:f3af, 66.228.54.105
cdn.videosift.com -> 108.161.188.129

Sorry for the server troubles (Sift Talk Post)
No, it needs to get off that Atari 2600 emulator. See http://videosift.com/talk/VS-runs-in-an-Atari-2600-emulator ...
@siftbot needs a good degaussing.
How to Pick a Lock With Hairpins
At the end of the video you can some pins are shaped like dumbbells to try to combat such picking.
look at http://www.slideshare.net/antitree/lock-picking-2600 starting from slide 18
Cool info, but I thought there was something in locks these days that prevented common lock picking.
Xbox One Bing Trolling
As a former consoler, Atari 2600 FTW!
Xbox One versus/vs. Nintendo 64
Yes, and vibrating controllers. I wasn't a console fan back then. I only owned Atari 2600 and borrowed a Turbo Graphx 16 for a week.
Never got the hype around GoldenEye.
Played it on a friends N64 and it felt like an ok FPS, but wasn't really that memorable. Is it just because it was the first decent console FPS?
