Tea or Coffee? Which is your drink?

What is your favorite hot beverage?

I've recently bought a glass tea pot w/ infuser, and we're really enjoying the whole hot tea thing.   Still there is no replacement for smelling freshly ground coffee in the morning.    Though with tea I'm not feeling the crappy jittery weirdness you get when the coffee wears off.

Well, which do you prefer and how do you prepare it?

p.s. Dag..coffee mug.

I prefer coffee. Though, living with my girlfriend I am subjected to the occasional hot tea.

You're making me jones for the coffee. I'm off to the local cafe for a cup now! Laters.

I'm about to brew a pot now. I found putting cherries in tea is really nice. The kids like having berries in their tea.

I just can't bring myself to even try putting milk in it like the Brits do. Where ever did they get that idea from?

i drink a lot of both.

coffee normally in cappuccino-form or or my own mix of mixed instant-cappuccino, Nesquick and a bit of normal cacao. (i love chocolate..). Coffee with Kalhua is great too.

and all kind of tea, turkish apple tea, rooibos tea, all kinds of herb teas, green teas, etc. i prefer my tea in a glass cup, and poured from a glass tea can, its great to see the great colors some teas have.

You got to have milk in your tea love, only natural innit?

Personally I prefer strongish tea with not too much milk (I'm just buying standard tea bags here and putting them into a mug) while my sister likes incredibly milky tea and that is just awful. I don't know how she stands it. AND with sugar. Sugar is a big no-no, just the tea taste please.

I do get the odd cup where something went wrong and it just tastes like dishwater. Maybe I should head to ye olde tea shoppe tomorrow and get something decent.

In my country we mostly drink tea, the best stuff is actual tea leaves dried and shredded, then you get the paper ones, Lipton seems awfully popular in our country with added slice of lemon and sugar. Very nice.

In Kuwait, its mostly strong Turkish coffee. Which essentially cracks you out allowing you to stay up all night every easily.

I love both coffee and tea. I found they have different "wake up" capabilities as well. I found that coffee is more of a quick wake with a crash whereas black tea wakes me up on a more steady pace and for a longer period of time with no crash whatsoever.

Some taste great with milk/cream. I have a vanilla chai tea that tastes great with some honey and milk. The sweetness of honey or sugar brings out some of the flavors...don't let anybody tell you that sugar in tea is a no-no. But, like everything else, it's only good in moderation

^rottenseed, I agree with you up there. If you don't have breakfast with coffee, you will crash HARD. Tea delivers the right amount steadily.

As for the milk thing.. I just can't bring myself to try it. I've read that it lowers the benefits of tea's antioxidants too. Pop science..whataya to do

As a Colombian, coffee is practically in my blood. But it is hard to find good Colombian coffee in the US, so I occasionally buy micro lots of Colombian coffee online.

Don't buy into that antioxidants thing, there are currently only a couple of small studies and they even contradict with one another. One says it lowers antioxidants, the other says it doesn't, the other says maybe, and so on.

Coffee. Preferrably fresh ground of the expensive kind, and brewed in a MoccaMaster. And black like blankfist's soul, but not of the french variety or espresso.

And served alongside apple pie with whipped cream.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

Long black with a dash of milk in the morning (also called a "long machiatto"
Lady Grey with a dash of milk in the evening. (it's like Earl Grey - but with a girlier sounding name - that is my tea)
