Zero Punctuation: Prototype vs. inFamous

Good review. Both games equally have their fun. One is more story focused with more variety, the other is the best game I've ever played for when you need to let out some steam.

In the end neither of them are great. But both are very enjoyable for different reasons.

/looking forward to the pictures of both in a bra lol.

He failed to mention that a large part of both games is the parkour aspect. He did mention that in Infamous, you climb buildings slow, and that is true. I thought Infamous won on the travel aspect because it has so much more precision than Prototype. You can balance on thin piping and there are simply so many more handholds and features in Infamous that you can't take advantage of in Prototype.

Prototype tried to fix the problem of not having any precision in travel, so they let your character put his wavy red blood magic crap into walls and scale them slowly, like Spiderman. No one uses this method of climbing because 1. It's slow, and 2, it glitches all the time. For example, I was trying to climb the spire on top of the empire state building, and the only way to do that is by slowly climbing. after the first few feet, the character tries to swing around the spire as if you needed to swing around the corner of a wall. since the spire is circular, you end up swinging into the air and falling on top of a billion infected civilians, which is fun, I'll admit, but it was completely involuntary.

That point probably seems stupid and small for most of you, but I just like being able to have control over the person I'm playing as, even if that choice sacrifices being able to cut people in half from their head to their crotch with a fucking two sided sword that you grew out of your hand.

screw it, Prototype gets another point for being totally badass. now they're back to being tied...damn.
