YouTube Sensation Funtwo Tracked to New Zealand

"TV3's Campbell Live show catches up with YouTube sensation Funtwo, who is studying in Auckland, New Zealand."

"So you think you know pop culture (or more exactly, YouTube pop culture). Quick, what’s the most popular fan-made music video on YouTube? It’s Canon Rock, a rendition of Pachebel’s classical music played by Jeong-Hyun Lim (better known as his online handle funtwo). The video clip has been viewed nearly 50 million times.

So what happened to Jeong-Hyun? David Farrier of TV3 in New Zealand went in search of funtwo, and found him not in South Korea, but in Auckland, New Zealand, studying computer science!

Here’s David’s interview with the YouTube sensation..."

He's still a hack. That whole "Cannon Rock" video 4 years ago was credit-hijacked by 'funtwo'.

The originator was JerryC [Zhāng Yìfán], who composed it and is more of a virtuoso, imo.
He has the natural sass of guitarists such as Yngwie, Eddie and the likes, whereas Lim [aka 'funtwo'] is more akin to a Thomas Kinkade, and thus explaining the switch to CompSci...no passion.

I wasn't even aware of FunTwo. I always watched the JerryC version.

Now that I watch them together JerryC is definitely better but FunTwo has a very graceful enterpretation.

I just wonder what the people living in apartments in Korea think about all these neighbors jamming out on guitars everywhere.
