Whose Line Is It Anyway - George W. Bush jokes

RhesusMonksays...

Think about the satirical/negative images of past presidents that we still remember today--e.g. "I am not a crook" (Nixon) and "Ich bein ein Berliner" (Kennedy). Then realize that these kinds of jokes will not fade with time, but will form the echo of the legacy of this man. For those in doubt, fear not; for a very long time, this man will be remembered as the most preposterous person of our age.

"A Bush in the band is worth two in the birds." Hehehe. It's confusing trying to compare that to "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." Colin definitely had that one chambered; there's no way that was just off the top of his head.

Hate to burst people's bubble, but the vast majority of what these "improv" guys do is anything but improv. I know a bunch of them, have seen many of their shows, and it's all a scam.

Most of what they do they've done 100x before. They have ready-made sketches for almost anything, and learn to quickly morph already existing sketches to fit the subject matter.

Lucky was right - Of course Colin had this one chambered. This is how these guys operate, and if you take any classes in "improv" you'll learn to do the same thing.

^ Go to any improv club in any major city and you'll see guys doing it "Week after week". In fact, a lot of these very same guys were local improv dudes, yukking it up with their "zany" and "wild" antics here in LA for years and years.

Meh.

Dude, that's what improv is. It's honing those jokes to fit all kinds of circumstances. It's like rap free-styling: you do it over and over so that the puns/rhymes are modular and can fit into all kinds of contexts. They are on a weekly show doing this over and over for God's sake, of course they're going to have chambered jokes. If they didn't, they'd be brain-dead.
