The downfall of modern civilization, according to most historians, started with this seemingly innocent show. Most Scientologists differ with this viewpoint, however, and claim that Alf was actually the grandson of Xenu brought to life.

As for me, I think it was a Democratic ploy for rampant immorality and subliminal messages promoting drug use and teen promiscuity. I don't have any hard data to back that up, but that's never stopped me before.
