Edensays...Wesley's art is just awesome.
aidossays...Wesley Willis is my hero
I like to get down to his rock music
Some people don't the music he makes
They can go suck a male camel's dick
Any other sifters fans?
bluecliffsays...And some people know how to rhyme
You can learn this also - with time
aidossays...ummm... that was a willisism. he didn't normally rhyme in his songs.
ravensays...I saw him once live... in 2000, my freshman year of college, he played at a friend's frat. It was kind of fucked up, there he was, all big and sweaty and drunk, singing his heart out... and all these dumbass frat types and their sorostitute girlfriends just gawked at him, "like eeewww gross... what's that thing on his face??" Assholes. My friend swears however that Wesley had a good time, and partied down with the brothers after the performance... I wouldn't know though, it was too exploitive, so I left early.
guessandchecksays...i think the thing on his face was a bruise of some sort. when i saw him he was headbutting everyone. he'd get right on you and say "Say Rock!" "Say roll!" and then you'd butt heads with him. there was a picture at the venue for a while of him head butting my dad. "rock over london, rock on chicago, met-life, it pays"
grspecsays...The thing on his head was a callous due to all the head butts. I'm sure Wesley was viewed as freak show by many, but you have to know that a lot of people probably changed their mind after the fact and realized that even though he was mentally challenged, he was pretty damn smart and talented. I bet he still made some friends and changed a few minds at that show raven.
omnithropesays...yet another fantastic live show.
rip, wes.
aidossays...oh man. I'm so jealous of those who have seen him live. I'm a bit of a music freak myself and I really like the stuff he did. honest, unique and aurally interesting - can't ask for better than that.
