True, but let's say he did have two airbags... There is a Passenger Disable Switch that could have been set to off. :-)

I've seent his before as an SNL skit. They did it when airbags were new and generally, only the driver's side had it. The skit ended with, "I've got the new driver's side airbad." Crash.
Still funny though.
