The Killers - Human

And i'm on my knees, looking for the answer
Are we human or are we dancer???

Update/re-embed: The Killers finally added the official clip, on Myspace. Better sound and far better video.

And another update: The weirdish lyrics (are we human or are we dancer are based on a quote by Hunter S. Thompson, nice!)

comment by SpaceMonkey in one of the many forumthreads discussion this song's lyrics:

"I believe he's used human and dancer as an adjective. which is why they dont have an "s" on the end, adjectives are not plural. He is referring to what they mean symbolically and metaphorically. As in are we "human" do we think for our self, have emotions and are individuals. Or are we "dancer", a puppet following a routine made by someone else which we all follow together. Their are many references to puppets in the lyrics, particularly the line "cut the cords" referring to the stings of a puppet and how we should cut the cords and live our lives as individuals. The lyrics are also inspired by a comment made by Hunter S. Thompson, how America was raising a generation of dancers."

i'd downvote for the lame video, or maybe the autostart (anyone got a better embed?, couldnt find it on youtube anymore after it was dead) but the lyrics, they are brrrrrrrrillliant.

edit: thanks to rasch for the new embed
