Ever notice how the greats always die young? And the mediocre are allowed to live on and on?

Not true. There are plenty of greats that have lived on. We just notice the ones who died. There are an equal number of mediocres who have died, we are just unlikely to remember/notice.

It's the classic thing where people remember all of the "lucky" things that have happened, but not the unlucky ones, and be more likely to thank Jesus for the touchdowns, than blame him for the fumbles.

What sucks about the time of his death is that he had just gotten clean and his career was headed for a rebirth.
