Plot summary for
The Brain Eaters (1958)
Strange things are happening in Riverdale, Illinois. A huge, seemingly alien structure has been found jutting out of the earth. Sent to investigate the origin of the mysterious object, Senator Walter Powers discovers that parasites from the center of the earth have infiltrated the town, taking control of the authorities and workers, making communication with the outside world impossible, and leaving the responsibility of stopping the invasion up to Powers and a small group of free individuals.

Farhad2000says...You kidding right? This is a cult classic...
HistNerdsays...I'm not entirely surprised about it making it to the front so fast so much as I'm surprised that it hadn't been posted before.
dagsays...Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)
Why do we fear bugs so much? I'm wondering more from an evolutionary aspect- the vast majority of them are harmless, but they always feature high when we are imagining scary aliens.
antsays...Heh, I got this movie on DVD for free (came with the laptop/notebook) when DVDs were new to computers.
Kruposays..."A planet hostile full of..." I think.
