10688says...Couldn't see the end of the video: it jammed at 3/4 the way through.
A country that can't be erotic will be neurotic. People are ashamed of their titillation and profess to abhor what they really want. So they chase out our decent leaders (Clinton, Spitzer) and enable our indecent ones (Bush).
Four thousand dead Americans and nearly a million dead Iraqis isn't a moral issue for Americans, a stain on a dress is.
Puritanism is a menace. And it is a convenient wedge to divide us from our real needs and ethics.
Was Spitzer on to any connection between Bush and Co. and the housing/banking crisis?

braindonutsays...I'm inclined to be skeptical about this entire piece, as the Kwami Killpatrick segment at the beginning is hardly a fair representation of the entire issue. It isn't necessarily that he got in trouble because he was having an affair and denied it. Another large part of the issue was that he got a couple cops fired because they were aware of his inappropriate relationship, an action which cost the city a lot of money when those cops sued and they settled out of court. He denied, of course, that their firings had anything to do with the relationship, but later the released text messages both showed that there was a relationship and that said relationship was a factor in the firings.
If it were merely a case of politician being horny and having an affair, I wouldn't care. But it's a bit more than that, I think.
