Rep. King (R-Iowa): Al Qaeda will rejoice at Obama victory

Heartland values at their finest. From Think Progress: Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told a local Iowa radio station recently that Al Qaeda would be “dancing in the middle of the streets” if Barack Obama were elected President “because of his middle name.”

I love how he thinks this is an insightful and astute observation.

If only Osama bin Laden's middle name were something like Gary or Doug, maybe America wouldn't hate him so much.

If America had suffered 5-year occupation by Iraq (or Saudi Arabia or Germany or Japan...any country, really) and the new leadership announced a withdrawal, wouldn't the militant rebels of America (as well as all citizens) also dance in the streets?

I'm quite sure America did some dancing once Cornwallis was driven away 227 years ago.

Yeah, rebuilding their country after overthrowing their despot, giving them a chance to live as a free nation in one of the most backwards, f-ed up regions on earth and doing it without taking one drop of their oil.

Such is the evil of the American "empire".

BTW is there a conservative analog on one of the 12+ liberal-run networks to compare with having a--hole Geraldo on FOX?
