Red Dead Redemption is a Western epic, set at the turn of the 20th century when the lawless and chaotic badlands began to give way to the expanding reach of government and the spread of the Industrial Age.

It looks nice and interesting , but I can almost guarantee that the game play "interaction" will be fairly pore. like in GTA nice cut scenes acting and story (in the context of games) but nearly all the mechanics are boring and the game is a fairly average third person shooter/driving.

when I play GTA or a Game that is cut scene story driven I often feel that the game play is a burden to the story , and that I'd rather just watch a film.

I think interactive story telling is better when the story is interactive or imperceivably non interactive , half life 1 , and operation flash point 1 are the only games that felt seamless to me.

Max payn and interstate 76 were the only games that had obvious cut scenes for the story that I felt it worked with the game play or didn't distract or feal disjointed from the game play.

It could be because the story in max payn and interstate is presented in a compelaty different artistic style to the game play , where as in most games the cut scene is presented in a way that is of higher or more realistic quality to the game play , making the game play feel like less of a reality than the story segments.
