I always wondered about this and 110v vs 220v electricity difference..
How hard would it be for a large country to switch from one to the other.

Wasn't there some country that tried to "ease in" to a changeover by driving on one side during odd numbered days and the opposite on even numbered days? Or some similar alternative with days of the week, etc.?

I think my father told me stories of that, but perhaps it was just tall tales.

But seriously, those are excellent explanations, left side of the street for sword fighting and right side of the street for horse steering.
