Probably The Best CPR PSA You’ll See All Day

YouTube Description:

Vinnie Jones shows how hard and fast Hands-only CPR to Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees can help save the life of someone who has had a cardiac arrest. The Hollywood hardman is starring in a British Heart Foundation TV advert urging more people to carry out CPR in a medical emergency.

That's an awesome video. I've done first aid courses twice, and not long after completely forgot the timing for cpr that they said 'X presses down then a breath, then x more at a rate of blah blah blah', and a few different combinations thereof based on age of person. Completely forgettable and ended up with me thinking I should do nothing instead of trying because I wouldn't do it the right way. Switching to hands only, and having something as genius as a well known song to do it to in your head is just A+.

I do recall hearing the "Staying Alive" bit somewhere (methinks Radio Lab podcast?) but they ALSO mentioned that "Another One Bites the Dust" has nearly the same beats per minute. Clearly, the mental context of the latter is a bit more depressing, but hey, if you're a Queen fan and know the timing of that song intimately, you can sing that in your head instead.

This is mega-awesome, but I do have one tiny problem with it: why lock fingers? It looks as if you will risk hurting yourself easier by doing that, and hand-on-top-of-hand is just as effective.

It's probably the easiest way to make sure you maximize the force rather than dispersing it over a wider area. It's also easy to remember
