siftbotsays...Sending this video to Beggar's Canyon to plea for a little attention - beg requested by original submitter deathcow.

spawnflaggersays...I like the concept, but I cannot upvote it, because it has BLEEP-ing nothing to do with mother-BLEEP-ing quantum mechanics. It charges via magnetic induction, and you need a special battery/adapter on the device to do the charging.
The question is - will you pay $$$ for the mat and adapters, just so you don't have to plug a charge cable in?
It might be popular in the future if it becomes an open standard and all cell phones/etc have the charging circuits built in.
wax66says...My question is how much power loss do you get by transmitting it wirelessly?
And is it worth the extra X dollars per year to not spend the extra 4 seconds a day to plug it in?
robvsays...I like the chick. She's hot and swears. Upvote.
deathcowsays...A full explanation is beyond this forum, but the quantum charging mat itself does not require any power supply. It continuously gathers energy by rectifying the natural peaks in the background "quantum foam bubbles". These first versions are just 1 thousandth of a percent efficient with a 10cm x 2cm brane antenna, but that is enough for charging small items.

Oh I dunno... I think you can call it quantum mechanics, just like you can say an auto accident killed someone because of quantum mechanics, pauli exclusion principle quantum field theories etc. You sure as hell could come up with a quantum description for the electromagnetic interactions here right?
