If Al Qaeda thinks the USA is becoming belligerent towards Al Qaeda's enemies in Iran, then Al Qaeda wouldn't risk diverting the USA's attention elsewhere by conducting another 9/11 style attack (unless they could make it look like Iran did it). That's the only possible benefit that might come from the republican-military-industrial-complex saber-rattling about Iran.

It's odd that you would think I downvoted this or any sift because of the submitter. Actually, I think it's the other way around. Most of my submissions are songs or trivia and they have a hell of a time making it out of the Q.

Movement conservatives don't like to admit to being wrong, so when they can't think of a decent argument, they will try to find some way to insult the source, or attack the style in which the information was presented, or declare that 'both sides are wrong'.

As you can see above, qm has still failed to provide any kind of rebuttal rather than emotionalism (everyone hates me-a Bush favorite) and a vague link to some fringe site that doesn't seem to address the content of this video anywhere on the front page.

Rather than get worked up, why not enjoy the aimless flailing of a frustrated person with no argument. By displaying your own anger, albeit genuine anger, he can take pleasure in knowing he has gotten a rise out of you and lap up a nice big bowl of victim pity for all the cruel 'LiberalSift' persecution.

I think it's better to publicly analyze these types of rhetorical styles/devices in order render them useless in the future. Frankly, this is good advice for qm too, as all side of the argument use rhetorical styles. ^You nailed it, DFT. Truth be told, even I am not the biggest fan of Olbermann's rhetorical style, which is not to say that I hate it either. I just prefer a different style, that's all. Olbermann's humor usually isn't funny to me, I don't like how he repeatedly uses "sir" when addressing someone he clearly doesn't like, and I find it pretentious that he uses Edward R. Murrow's "Good night and good luck" tagline to close his broadcasts.

However the guy IS smart and he knows politics well. He hit the nail on the head with all three stories. For me its substance over style when it comes to news and politics. This isn't a music video, cartoon, or short film; it's fucking NEWS. So to downvote this solely because you don't like how the news is presented is shallow at best, and a downright lie at worst. If Olbermann were taking Obama to task because of Rev. Wright I have feeling Keith's style wouldn't matter to you any more, QM. Even if you wouldn't upvote it I doubt you would downvote either.
