Man Tasered On Live TV By A Chubby Cop!

cops in the u.s seem to have the right to punish folks that have not yet been proven guilty, i think its a little scary.

For one... it isn't fair to demolish all police officers for any one insident... it seems far to common these days.

Personally i would have had no issue with his being tasered while he was fleeing... It was heaviy traffic and there were a lot of innocent people all around who could be hurt...

Havaing said that... it certianly looked like he was done... surrendering... hands were up... and clearly he was surronded by a lot of law enforcment... it seemed highly overkill to then taser him at that point.

You can avoid the crime, but you can't avoid the ride. If you evade athorities, expect the walls of your world to come crashing down. There is abuse of power that we see on the sift here from time to time, but this isn't it. He evaded the law and they used non-leathal means to bring him down to the ground, litteraly

He could of ended up dead or hurting someone else if he continued to flee. Most likely what happened is he was told to get down, and he didn't. The officers assisted him to the ground using the "AHHHH DON'T TAZE ME BRO" technique. All in all, good arrest.

Given that there have been cases of accidental deaths due to tasering, you would think it would be better to err on the side of caution and not taser someone unless you absolutely have to. Did they pepper-spray him too after he went down? That seemed kind of like overkill to me.

Doesn't apear so, although it isn't really clear. Even so, if you are instructed to do something by the police and don't respond quickly expcet a reaction. If you have a heart condition, even more reason to comply quickly

I am no fan of police brutality or harrassment mind you...but that isn't seen here in the least. Now, if they all started kicking him as he was incapacitated, they ya, totally. But that isn't what happend.
