Iraq, 5 years after the invasion: A slice of life in Basra

Mar. 19 marked the 5th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. This short video gives a slice-of-life view of Basra, and how things are 5 years later. I'm keeping this description as neutral as possible. Tell me if the war was worth it.

I'm with Hans Blix on this one: the war was a complete and utter tragedy, a colossal waste of time, money, and most sadly human life. If it serves any good purpose at all it will be as a cautionary tale to nations in the future not to be so quick to allow their leaders to resort to military force.

That said, now that we're there, we're going to be there for a long time to come. Leaving now would plunge the country into complete chaos--without these troops making sure people actually get access to clean water and fuel and helping repair the overall infrastructure of the country the whole place would just implode.
