In Rare Interview, Assad Hints of Retaliation Against U.S.

(youtube) President Bashar Assad warned Sunday that if President Obama decides to launch military strikes on Syria, the U.S. and its allies should "expect every action" in retaliation.

"You should expect everything. Not necessarily from the government," Assad told "CBS This Morning" co-host Charlie Rose in his first television interview since Mr. Obama sought congressional approval for military action.

In a clear reference to his allies in Iran and the Islamic militant group Hezbollah, Assad warned that his government is "not the only player in this region."

"You have different parties, you have different factions, you have different ideology. You have everything in this region now," said Assad, who has been accused by the White House of killing 1,400 of his own people in an Aug. 21 chemical weapons attack on the Damascus suburbs.

Am I the only on that finds Charlie Roses(who i usually dig)question absolutely lame? Questions like that are asked IMO just to get Americans fired up and thus get television ratings. So annoying and wasted opportunity to possibly learn something.

Well, what else is Assad going to say after all those threats against him?

Should he bow down, wave his Article 51 right of self-defense and take it up the ass?
Should he pretend to be in full control over sympathetic militant forces in the area?
Should he wave his magic wand to convince all the loonies in surrounding countries to stay at home and watch a ball game instead?

Of course shit might very well spin out of control (both his and NATOs) if military action is taken. That's the nature of the beast. No point in pretending otherwise.

The Russian proposal, in contrast, seems to work as AFP now reports. Less threatening, more talking. Who'd have thought...

My god the man's skull....
Ok so, before anyone starts riding Bashar Assad's cock, please do a bit of research on this mealy-mouthed worm, he's a real piece-a-work. Groomed to retain power, fast-tracked military appointments and commendations yadda-yadda, a crew of spin-doctors around him for several years leading-up to his "popular" support he continually blathers-on about in the full interview.

Mankind oh-ye, piity all Syrians.

He didn't gain this so-called, popular support through any means other than intimidation, fear, and mind-control and the pressure to rise to the situation his ailing father no-doubt drilled-into him day and night.
