Bob Geldof wrote the song after reading a newspaper report on the shooting spree of 16-year-old Brenda Ann Spencer, who fired at children playing in a school playground across the street from her house. She killed two adults and injured eight children and one police officer. Spencer showed no remorse for her crime, and her only explanation for her actions when captured was "I don't like Mondays."

I've always been a big fan of the Rats...not so much this song because it was way overplayed.

One song I can never find though is "Up All Night"...can't find the album it was originally on, it's not on their greatest hits album...nothin...

"up all night, OOOO zah, zah, stayin' up all night" I've got the vinyl somewhere goofball and will try to find it! As I recall, it wasn't very well received but what do critics know?
