If that was the 15 minutes that was supposed to make me want to watch this show, I think they should have picked a better 15 minutes.

I appreciate SyFy trying to keep this genre alive but they never take any risks with trying to create something actually good, it's always standard sort of casual shit. Which I suppose is needed for numbers but is it working? Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be better to create something that the SciFi community can really attach to, as a loyal dedicated fanbase but that may alienate the normal viewer.

We have created very artful writers in a very stale box. I wish those who employed them saw that. TV is not a medium I will mourn the imminent death of.
