BBC Pop Up's Benjamin Zand is exploring the state of the beautiful game in the US. He spent a month in the Louisiana capital Baton Rouge where American football is the biggest sport by far. At a big game at Louisiana State University he asked fans why they remain deeply suspicious of soccer.

In my lifetime there has been a huge uptick in the popularity of soccer. By the time civilization comes to an end in 2078 it will almost be as popular as North American football.
