By referring to Bush's last press conference as an example of the "power of rationalization" in "easing the bright glare of ... failure," Jon Stewart also perfectly captured the motivations behind Sarah Palin's recent and seemingly unstoppable Victim Offensive. She's making documentaries and getting interviewed by Esquire -- and she doesn't seem to realize that giving everyone the same quotes lessens the value of a complaint had that little in the first place. Nor does she seem to understand that really, she should go away for awhile and maybe perform the duties of her office, unless she thinks Alaska's economy can be buoyed by "doin' that media criticism stuff, right there, you betcha." Stewart's take on the matter is smart and thoughtful, and he tears apart her nonsensical contentions, especially the one where she suggests she'd have been treated better by the media if she was on the Obama ticket.
But let's face it, most of you will be most tickled by the graphic the show comes up with for the segment: "Blamey Whinehouse." Well played. - Huffington

Can anyone watch the How Obama Got Elected website and please tell me how bad it is? I'm afraid if I watch it I might do unspeakable things.
MaxWildersays...Well, I agree that McCain and Palin got screwed. Others may not agree, but I went into the election season wondering what fall guy the republicans were going to flush down the toilet, because it was pretty much guaranteed that the Democrats would win.
Of course I thought the same thing about the 2004 election, but we got four years and a couple hundred scandals to help a few voters get their heads out of their asses.
Not that I think the policies of the Democrats are necessarily better than the Republicans, but the corruption in the Republican party is way out of control, and they really need to get their shit together.
