Apache and UH-60 Precision Target Fire using IR

BoneyDsays...

I've seen this video floating around the internets and I tend to think it's been mis-labeled. Though it's difficult to be sure, I believe the attacking craft are likely to be AH-6 (or MH-6) Little Birds or something similar. They use two forward firing miniguns and/or rockets, as opposed to a Spectre or Blackhawk which are side mounted. The latter would be firing as they orbit the target, whereas we see the rounds in the video as though from a stationary (or directly approaching) vehicle. I've also heard it argued that they were AH-64 Apaches doing the strafe, but i'm fairly certain they only use the slower firing 30mm cannon.

Still, an impressive video! It's interesting how the ground fire from the .50cal chimes in when the chopper attack has finished. I would guess to keep any survivors heads down, lest they attack the vulnerable passing aircraft?
