(youtube) From the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of American History (SI NMAH) Volta Laboratory collection. Optical scanning is a process to restore historic sound recordings, non-invasively. The technology used here was developed mainly by a collaboration of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Library of Congress.

I din't know Bell was a Scotsman-Could have sworn I'd heard this recording before and it sounded just as distorted...Is this process supposed to clean an old recording up or to get the track off of an otherwise unplayable source?
