Imperial lanes! My old stompin' grounds back home in T-Town - Toledo, Ohio! Home of the Mudhens, Jamie Farr, Katie Holmes, Tony Packo's Hungarian sausages and Johnny Patraglia's perfect 300 game! I'm so proud!

Nah, True Value didn't pay out anything. The money is put up by companies that set up and insure these sort of wagers. True Value pays a much smaller amount for the promotional period against some particular, unlikely event happening, like bowling a perfect game. The amount depends on the unlikeliness of the event, and the number of attempts.

The audio-video store I used to work for had a similar event. If the Kansas City Chiefs shutout the San Diego Chargers, all customers who had bought a TV worth more that $399 during the promotional period got their money refunded. One woman had bought and $11,000 plasma (this was a while ago). Brandsmart didn't pay any additional money when the Chiefs won 35-0.
