She actually said:

So these aren't just completely random acts and they're not interested in that kind of security." [my emphasis]

I have no problem believing that warmer ocean temperatures leads to a larger number of and/or more intense storms. However she leaves no doubt that she attributes the warmer ocean temperatures to human activity. She uses the words "warming ocean temperatures" and "global warming" right next to each other in the same sentence.

The problem now is that I feel a little bit like I've backed myself into a corner defending the critics of anthropogenic global warming. In actual fact I find that I am yet to be convinced one way or the other. I like to think of myself as being relatively well informed and yet the more I try to research the issues the more I feel like my head is spinning.

The whole topic is extremely complicated and hard to comprehend, even for climate scientists, and yet the media is full of personalities and presenters and news programs and even adverts that seem so certain that they know that the case for AGW has been proved. The constant repetition of the mantra of global warming has an aura of "truthiness" about it. If you repeat it often enough eventually everyone will believe it.

I would like to believe too. I keep waiting for an epiphany to happen. Waiting for the moment when I can finally say "Aha, now I get it. Now I see what everyone else could see."
But really I get the feeling that most people don't really "see it" at all. They just believe what they're told.

As for changes...I have no idea what I had 7 months ago (I was still a sleeper agent then), but I'd bet Politics was still #1 then too.

Maybe the MSM isn't required here... Just put it on a MoveOn campaign ad with some contextual text.

Um, the "truthiness" of the lies is what's important, not the veracity. The sooner the Democrats understand this reality, the better they will fare in the election.

I dunno about women in general but I don't go for just looks, I need personality and feeling. The type of dude to do porn isn't my type.

Could it be that some/a lot/all women are put off by/not interested in porn because it is all presented in such a terrible serious way?

Until the news is taken out of the hands of humans, there will be bias.

Ask 3 witnesses of a incident about the emotions and possible reasons for it, and you will get 3 answers. They may all have some factual truths in common, but they will all differ when trying to tell the "feel" of it.

That's what reporters do now, try to tell you what they felt the news meant, not just the news. Truthiness is real.

choggie, when I say "lies" in this context, it refers to the channel definition, i.e., truthiness - "stating facts that you believe or want to be true, rather than stating facts that are known to be true"

The photoshopped pictures of Barack and Osama, Barack as Che, etc. And the obvious "Obama is not an American or Christian." Well, if he wasn't a native American, he would be constitutionally disqualified from being president, so it's patently false. All of those and more qualify this for the Lies channel.

MG - I may be wrong, but perhaps your view of christians is skewed by location. I've recently spent a lot of time in the deep south, and I personally know more than a few christians who think along similar lines. Don't worry, I'm working to "fix" them.

The video deserves to be there. I liked the start and the "ooh, I've never had one in my house before" but then turns into "this is true, because I think its true" which is truthiness == lies channel.
