Wait…you know I don’t follow the trials?
You know this because I send you a half dozen Trump courtroom failures a day that you pretended you didn’t read (despite referencing) because the facts presented contradict your ridiculous narrative? Silly boy. Because you can’t comprehend what’s happening doesn’t mean others aren’t following along. 😂 I can only explain it to you, I can’t understand it for you.

Trump insiders are beginning to publicly wonder what they’ll do when Trump isn’t their candidate, admitting that his mental state is not at all well and deteriorating rapidly under the pressure of trial(s), his court cases are hurting badly (despite claims they would help) and he’s refusing to campaign even in his 3 free days a week out of court (he needs that money, can’t waste it on rallies).

Meanwhile Biden speaks off the cuff at events like the correspondent dinner (that Trump avoided like a coward knowing he couldn’t tell jokes or be funny even with the teleprompter) where he once again killed it on stage, being sharp, witty, and with great timing. Sleepy Joe sure is bright eyed and bushy tailed, rational and intelligent, vibrant and focused whenever you see him unedited, must be adrenochrome, right?

The RNC has a maximum of 6 months to dump Trump, but he knew that was coming and nepatized the RNC 100% so now it’s nothing but a cash cow for his personal legal bills and won’t drop him if he’s in prison. He decimated the entire party. So much for “I won’t take a dime, I’m going to self fund my campaign”, right? Now he takes every dime and doesn’t spend any of his money at all, he even pays himself to stay at his own properties. 😂 Just another blatant lie you ignore in a never ending string of lies.

Yep Trump will loose in his highly biased Judge and Jury, Just like all the other trials. Trump will have to win on appeals, dealing with less biased judges.

I know you dont follow the trials, Your IQ is too low to follow.

On the other hand Joey B mental capacity is failing daily.
When do you think the DNC will SWAP him and the useless VP? The DNC got 4 months to dump sleepy Joe.

Chelsea Handler on Roe v. Wade Being Overturned

newtboy says...

You are 100% insane and intentionally ignorant.
The court has been majority conservative since the 70’s, it’s now 6-3 conservative and you claim to believe it’s still liberal, just one conservative decision came out. So delusional bob.

Yeah, no one had any issues with the 100% liberal decisions from the liberal Supreme Court…like Citizens United.
Just. So. Ignorant. And. Dumb. Bob.

The right has regressed hard fought freedoms and rights by 50 years. The free world is aghast at what the symbol of freedom and liberty became over such a short 5 year stretch thanks to our core being decimated by magats.

Your ignorance knows no bounds, comrade. No American is so clueless that they think the court JUST became conservative.

Children aren’t in wombs, you brainless slug.

And wow, you are so bat shit crazy you actually go after comedians doing a comedy show for telling jokes. I know they don’t do that in con comedy, but REAL comedy has jokes, not just vitriolic hateful verbal assaults against common enemies. You might try it some time.

So, no college makes a person uneducated and dumb….no high school must make them moronic, like your dear old dad, grandpa, and from your grammar, math, science, and history skills, you too despite your claim, and let’s not forget Boebert. No intelligent thought between the four of you. Didn’t think we wouldn’t remember how proud you are of your ignorant uneducated ancestors, the long family history of people that didn’t finish high school? Considering your abilities, and how easy you are duped into believing nonsensical lies with no facts or logic to them, I wouldn’t be surprised to find you didn’t graduate 8th grade. Wait…is your real name “Hershel”?

No intelligent thought. Hasn’t been an intelligent thought from you since you signed up here, Bob. Just regurgitation of blatantly false propaganda and infantile preschooler insults and whining. Lots of your lies being debunked which you answer by simply telling more lies hoping people didn’t notice you were just thoroughly debunked with corroborated facts and called out as the moronic liar you are for the 972nd time.

PS- way to try posting your discarded idiotic fact free propaganda in comments. Lucky you comments don’t get discarded for negative votes or you would have only about a dozen left from your unpopular and largely unwanted time here….silly little troll.

I suppose you agree that mean man shot Rudy in the back with his invisible gun, right? Almost tackled him, but Rudy is so strong he maintained his balance. Never a true word from Republicans, every syllable you utter is false. If you guys got your wish, a culture like 70’s Saudi Arabia where only white men have power and everyone else is subservient, it wouldn’t make you happy because you would all be begging on the streets with no hands or tongue, because they cut off your hands for stealing and your tongues for lying in that culture.

Fifty years of liberal decisions and the left had no issue with the supreme court. Now the pendulum swings back and all hell breaks loose. The left are the radical side. This decision is just put the issue back to the states, where it belongs. About 1/3 of the states allow this murdering already

Still the most dangerous place for a child will still be the womb.

Like how Handler is unable to have an intelligent conversion about this topic just slanted jokes. That is all you can expect from an uneducated person with no college. No intelligent thought.

Introverts vs Extroverts

Real Time with Bill Maher: Frank Luntz 7/15/16

Babymech says...

I don't think we can pretend that either of them was trying 100% to engage in serious discussion. Nobody who answers a question with "my whole life has been spent out with the American people, while you're telling jokes" is committed to serious debate, unless the topic of the debate is which countries Frank has lived in.

Still, Luntz was right on one of the few facts they disagreed on - "Reagan's last two Gallup job approval ratings before he left office were 57% in mid-November and 63% in December 1988.

The highest job approval rating of the Reagan administration was 68% -- reached twice, in May 1981 and as previously indicated, in May 1986. As noted, the low point was 35% in January 1983."

Real Time - New Rule – Learn How to Take a Joke

SDGundamX says...

As he goes on to explain, just like the "Hispanic men are rapists" joke and the "Muslims blow shit up" joke, this joke relies on exaggerating either the facts or our perception of reality. Case in point, Jenner was biologically born a man and decided he felt more like a woman. Now he literally needs to learn how to "act like a woman" because--let's face it--the majority of what we perceive as "feminine" is learned, acculturated behavior (how to dress, how to move, how to talk, etc.).

And yeah, all of those jokes are offensive--but so what? Why are we so worried about being offensive when telling jokes? If you honestly believe that all Hispanic men are racists or all Muslims are terrorists or all transgender individuals are "just acting" then clearly there's a problem. But how is there any harm in joking about these things?

The humor lies in exaggerating to an absurd level facts that are taken out of context (or put into an entirely new context). Every great comedian does this , which is why apparently great comedians like Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock don't do college shows anymore.

Babymech said:

Did he seriously not understand why it was offensive to say that somebody's sexual identity is just 'acting'? What the fuck is "it's just words" supposed to mean? I'm not saying the line should or shouldn't be cut, because I don't know shit about the context, but at least I understand what the offending joke was... is this how Maher thinks comedy works, specific trigger words that are permitted or not?

Louis CK Explains Where Nigger Originated to Patrice O'Neal

EMPIRE says...

that was hilarious. I love the PC Police as usual, doesn't even grasp the concept of free speech and comedy. Yes, some jokes are racist and offensive, but that doesn't automatically make them bad, or even make the person telling them an actual racist. And by the way, telling jokes isn't the problem with racism. Racism is the problem with racism.

Let's check the definition or racist:
. a person who believes in racism, the doctrine that one's own racial group is superior or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others

Is Louie CK a racist because he made that joke? Did he advocate the inferiority of black people in any way? And even if he did it, in a joke, it's completely different from doing it with a straight face and actually believing that shit.

It's perfectly normal that some people find that joke offensive and not funny at all. What's not normal is wanting to define the world by your limited concepts.

Light the fuck up already.

Maybe he kills the guy and bakes him in his family recipe + actual family meat. Is that too much or was the joke too distracting? Psychopaths, huh? You just DON'T know -- but sometimes you do, which might be why he wasn't laughing, even though it WAS funny.

Just my perspective, as one who appreciates the varied and magical views that Hollywood has of the criminal deviant. It's all just kinda silly fun really. Real evil men have been witnessed to be charismatic and tell jokes, appearing warm and friendly at times. It's the ability of these criminals to pull us out of reality and make us feel at ease that is truly creepy.

CNN anchors taken to school over bill mahers commentary

00Scud00 says...

I think it's because comedians are starting to get more attention than the pundits and they don't like anybody horning in on their action. For that matter I sometimes find comedians and what they say to be more truthful and even honest. Comedy isn't always just telling jokes, it can also be a way of broaching subjects that otherwise might be considered too painful or even outright taboo for many people, if you can keep them laughing they are less likely to punch you in the face.

newtboy said:

I also wondered that. I love Bill, but he's a comedian, not a reporter or even pundit. His viewpoint should not be news unless it creates some real 'news'.
I find it odd how often the right wing pundits and representatives want to 'debate' with a comedian and their statements lately instead of arguing with other 'pundits' or reps that aren't joking.

Norm MacDonald on Hitler

Fletch says...

That's the joke... "his process of naive discovery". It's a joke. He's a comedian, and he tells jokes. I'm sure @brycewi19 doesn't believe Norm just discovered Hitler, nor does Norm really want you to believe it. He's relating things that aren't true in order to be funny. I'm sure he didn't fly all night to get to the Letterman show, either, should he claim his arms are tired.

Did you all read the title and think he, Norm MacDonald, had something interesting or insightful to say about Hitler? Did you all see this as a learning opportunity? To feel slighted, or indignance, or just pissy... over this? Pffft...

Am I the only one who L'dMAO? I fuckin' love Norm MacDonald. I FUCKIN' LOVE NORM MACDONALD!

Rape in Comedy: Why it can be an exception (Femme Talk Post)

messenger says...

This isn't about jokes at all. It's about any kind of communication. It just happens that most of the questionable communication that involves rape in our society happens to be stand-up comics because controversy and uncomfortable topics are their bread and butter. It could be a joke, a manifesto, a painting or an idle comment on a Sift video. Point is, it's not about jokes at all, never mind whether the joke is funny.

Anything that promotes rape is unacceptable socially. Things that involve rape in any other way are socially acceptable. It's up to people who witness the delivery to decide if it promotes rape or not.

I don't think this should be controversial. It's like racism. I doubt anybody here would say that all jokes about blacks are fine, because overwhelmingly they promote racism.

Bottom line, telling jokes about rape doesn't promote rape necessarily, but sometimes it does.

Rape and Retards: Doug Stanhope talks Daniel Tosh

Sotto_Voce says...

@vaire2ube, I'm glad you brought up Patrice O'Neal, because he is a perfect example of the disingenuousness of the "It's just comedy, folks" defense. There is plenty of evidence that O'Neal was a bona fide misogynist, with genuinely toxic views about women. But because he usually expressed those views humorously, any criticism was met with something like "God, can't you take a joke, you humorless feminazi?"

I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. Hateful views don't get a pass just because they're followed by a punchline. Good (and even some not-so-good) comedians don't just tell jokes, they convey ideas, and those ideas should be subject to scrutiny just as they would be if they came from Rachel Maddow or Charles Krauthammer. To treat comedy otherwise, to treat it as if it is just light entertainment that shouldn't be taken seriously, is to trivialize it. And the trivialization of comedy is precisely what the greats -- Bruce, Pryor, Carlin -- fought against. To anyone who loves the artform of comedy, the phrase "just a joke" should be anathema.

Patrice O'Neal was a very funny man, but he was also a bigot. His funniness does not excuse his bigotry in the slightest. And Tosh doesn't even have that figleaf. His act is shot through with causal misogyny and disregard for the valid concerns of rape victims. Look, that woman shouldn't have heckled him in the middle of the act. But his response was hugely dickish. Especially given the fact that she had just voiced strong sentiments against rape jokes, which in the mind of most considerate human beings would have triggered a little alarm to the effect of "Maybe she reacts so strongly to rape jokes because she is a rape victim."

Also, equating rape to diabetes is just moronic.

I'd put the order something like Holocaust > rape > diabetes in terms of offensiveness potential. And I think Holocaust jokes are just fine. I think that people making Holocaust, rape, pancake, diabetes, and "everything else" jokes is a positive thing for the world, even if most of those jokes have no particular insight. I don't think it matters whether a joke is good or insightful as to whether it's an "OK" thing to do.

If a comedian tells jokes I don't like, I think of that person as a bad comedian, not a bad person. Sounds like this guy did some poor material. I probably wouldn't go to his show. I don't want to hear poorly done rape jokes (as it sounds like these were). I'm 100% in favor of people sharing the type of comedy someone does - it helps people make good decisions on what they watch. But I don't think his intention was anything other than to entertain; from this I don't think we know anything about whether he's a bad person, just whether he's good at his job.

I think people should try not to be offended by things, and if they can't then they shouldn't go to comedy shows where jokes like this are likely to happen. Personally (and for personal reasons) I can't deal well with media that has violence against human infants (or even sick children). It affects me physically; I pretty much have to turn away. And I've heard arguments that movies and games and whatever shouldn't have violence against children. While I have no desire to see babies hurt in a game, I am 100% against any kind of ban (hard or otherwise). I shouldn't get to decide this for other people. Let people decide what to produce and what to watch.

We'll never agree on some set of "community standards" for what's acceptable in a comedy show - the best solution is just to publicize what kind of comedy a person does; then people can decide based on that whether it's a show they want to see and/or participate in.

Jimmy Carr's Thoughts on Taboo in Comedy

alien_concept says...

>> ^A10anis:

He says; "It's a joke, i wasn't being serious or trying to make a point."
I don't think Bill Hicks or George Carlin (to name just two) would be in that catagory of comedian. Their whole comic agenda was to make points about everything, whilst wrapped up in the guise of comedy.

You know what, I thought exactly the same thing. But then Jimmy Carr definitely isn't the type of comedian to sell you his beliefs, he just-tells-jokes.
