PC Game Gun

This video along with Johnny Lee's awesome Wii hacks make me think that hardware companies could easily come up with really amazing stuff if they wanted to. And what do we get? The xbox camera/mic and the ps3 wagglesticks.
Just curious, did any of you try virtual reality around 16 years ago when it was newish and being hyped in the media? It's an amazing experience, I still haven't seen anything that compares to it to this day.
The setup I tried had a full helmet with two stereoscopic screens which surrounds the field of view, has built in speakers, and blocks out external light and sound. As well as independent motion tracking of the head and hands. It ran a simple but intuitive FPS, which was also the first true 3D (no sprites) FPS I had ever seen. Compared to that I always have to laugh when people talk about today's games as being "immersive"

You might be talking about the Forte VFX1 Headset, which was by far the geekiest gadget since the Nintendo Power Glove. I played the original System Shock on it and it was great.

Very nice. I do love me some VCS. The simulated wood paneling, the blister causing flexible plastic, the flicker of more than 3 sprites moving at a time .... by the jewel encrusted sword of Fireworld, and the power of the black speck and the spirit of Warren Robinette! take me back to 1983.

This is crap. It's just stupid.

Budzos, with all due respect, you can go fuck yourself. I * saved your version of this sketch from your discarded videos back before there was a pqueue. Did you even watch this video before downvoting it? Don't lie, either. I see this comment here:

Fuuuuck. My mistake then. In my memory I had posted the Tae Kwan Leap version. Apologies, but again I didn't downvote because I thought it was a dupe. It's because I hate HATE HATE mash-ups. I think they cheat both pieces of source material in almost all cases. Check my downvote record and see how often I downvote mashups. In your case I downvoted without watching or seeing because mashing up audio of the Frantics with anything other than video of the Frantics offends me to the very core.

Did you notice that the audio in this sift is from the radio sketch? Are you aware that the radio version is funnier than the one from 4 on the floor? The comedic timing is tighter, the voice characterization is more comedic, it is just better.

"I hate hate hate mash-ups" well don't fucking watch them, then. This one happens to be very well done- the choice of characters to represent the voices is spot-on, the different sprites that the characters have for different things that happen in the sketch goes perfectly. It's well constructed, timed perfectly, it is great. Not "crap". Not "stupid".

Remind me to never * save any of your videos again.

Nice, is she a 3d image to that guy? Or just a sprite?

Not sure, but more likely than not he can´t see her like the audience.

I am guessing they just marked a spot for him to look at like in conventional greenscreen studios.

Kept waiting for her to say: "Help me ObiWan"

That was genuinely funny. Also, I agree that eventually we may not be able to provide evidence for creation of the universe. Especially when we get to the non-light (hard to measure anything without photons/radiation, except by indirect evidence) quantum mechanics domain (*edit looking at events very close time wise to what kick started it). But, that's not a reason to believe in god or FSM.

Lightning is fairly well known, sprites and other related phenomena, not so much. We do have a fairly good grasp of electro-magnetism.

One vs. Many. OLDBOY fight scene, Great Moments in Cinema

In the past couple years I crossed some threshold where I can no longer tolerate scenes like this. The old cliche about the crowd of guys hanging back and attacking the guy one at a time... so stupid. This scene is staged and filmed way better, but still.

I think the guy was contacted to design video games because the characters in this scene often resemble a sprite from a fighting game, looping the animation for an idle state.

Top 10 FPS

Wow... I couldn't disagree more about SO many of the games on the list. GoldenEye #1? Are you on crack?!

My major argument would have to be the lack of Doom 2. There were SO many conversions, maps, sprite mods, etc out there for the game and, more importantly, it was the first, and still one of the few and proud, FPSes to throw a ridiculous number of monsters at you at once. Not having to render polys was a good thing for performance! It took until Serious Sam to be able to throw a similar number of fully 3d mobs at you at once.

Scatterbrained!?!
