I guess being really annoying is not considered work...

See I don't mind the christians in america...they aren't bothering me while I'm working or trying to do stuff on a Sunday. These mother fuckers should get the shit kicked out of them though. So I guess what I'm saying is I hate Jews.

Obviously we got off to a bad start so now you're being jokey and nice with me. Please leave me alone. Don't comment on my comments...just leave me alone please.

EDIT: Nevermind I found the ignore button...fuck off.

Nuke'em again.

Hmm I guess you'd also like to see Jews in concentration camps again for circumcising their children? Or American Indians to move because they stand in the way of progress? Hacking off of limbs for crimes?

Think before you type, you something that would get me banned

Shut up. If you don't like inane obviously stupid statements said for overactive comic effect then you need to get off the internet.

There's a button for that. If you don't know how to use a button you need to get off the internet.

I don't care...I don't care what you think I don't care what you do. Shut up and leave me alone.

These actually have a real impact on me, I think due in part to my dogs. People make light of it, but something as simple as finding your pets after something so tragic has taken place will turn the biggest man in the room into a quivering bowl of jelly; it's very emotional. Just look at the lady; she's almost speechless. The dog as well is overjoyed.

I've come back from long trips and my dogs will literally not leave me alone for a good 20 minutes or so.

I know it would leave me nearly speechless and overjoyed to an extreme extent.

The ending showing the rescue makes me tear up... Sometimes humans truly do, do the right things and they'll steal your breath if you witness it and if they do it right. Inspiring.

Killing Us Softly: Advertising's Image of Women

criticalthud says...

i think the point is, it's gotten a bit out of hand. agreed. fuck, it would be nice in film to see some actors who can actually act...rather than just look pretty and read a script.

but maybe a bigger problem is that the only time i'm not advertised to and marketed to (in our uber-consumer society) is when i'm asleep. fucking leave me alone for 5 minutes.

and there is a significant difference between what we see as a realistic "perfect" human form and something photoshopped to physical impossibility.

Why do you think these problems would go away without a state? Why should I believe that violence, theft, guns and oppression wouldn't be much worse under your system?

In reply to this comment by blankfist:
What violent, tyrannical, one-size-fits-all, groupthink bullshit am I pushing? That I want to be left alone? That I don't want you voting to steal money from me? That I don't want you voting to have men with guns aggress against me for victimless crimes?

The alternative is leave me alone. Don't vote my rights away. How's that for a realistic, intelligent alternative?

In your bullshit system I can't be libertarian. In a free society where people are left alone, you can be whatever you want as long as you can find other people to voluntarily join your collective.

In reply to this comment by dystopianfuturetoday:
But your violent, tyrannical, one-size-fits-all, groupthink bullshit is OK? Why this double standard?

Democracy is flawed, but until you can provide a realistic, intelligent alternative, it's the best we've got.

In reply to this comment by blankfist:
I'm fine if people want to VOLUNTARILY join groups or collectives. That's great. My problem is when people want to push their group think bullshit on the rest of us. Slavery was the majority of white people voting away the rights of the minority, and that's exactly what democracy will always be.

. Your system encourages violence and tyranny through policy: family first, drug wars, wars, etc. I think it's fine for someone to be racist and a bigot, as long as he doesn't force it onto me. But in this silly statist system I haven't a choice and neither do people affected by bad democratically voted policies.

Democracy is dangerous. It's outdated. It needs to slowly be phased out completely.

In reply to this comment by dystopianfuturetoday:
Do you realize how nonsensical it is that you belong to a group that is anti-group? Why should your anti-collective collective be exempt from its own principles? Life is a balance between the individual and the group. Individuals cannot survive without collectives and collectives cannot survive without individuals. You are pitting ying against yang.

Despite what your identity politics leads you to believe about yourself, you are a part of many collectives: libertarianism, anarchism, capitalism, anarcho capitalism, free marketism, conservatism, videosift, facebook, Free Talk Live, NAMBLA, Ron Paul fan club, the company you work for, Los Angeles, California, America, North America, Earth, the human race, your university, high school, middle school and primary school, your family, your circle of friends, the production crew for your film.....

You dirty collectivist pig!

The reason wealthy and powerful people push this kind of thinking is that individuals are much easier to control than groups. Individuals with wealth and power have little trouble subjugating other weaker, less powerful individuals, but when those individuals organize, they stand a fighting chance.

You should be wary of any ideology that defines itself as the official ideology of individualism, liberty, freedom or objectivity. Ideology should be about ideas, not platitudes.

I understand.

he is lost. I lost my friend.

honestly he is one in two (1:2) that I have of friends.

loosing him hurts. I claim the other as my friend but not as deep as this guy was. losing him really sucks. more or less it leaves me alone.

I seriously do not like his girlfriend.

They will be broken up within 2 years.

He will possibly come to me for solace, I will not give it. I will tell him I told him he was making a mistake and was to much of a pussy to man up to the facts, He wrote it own burial.

My words are just ripples, I thought this 2 weeks ago, 2 months ago. I know he was gone when I moved out.

thats the way life is.

I am learning a lot lately, things I knew but never grasped. To be alive is to be alone. To be in society.. possibly means to have someone, but to get their...well to get their is pretty damn rocky.

Sounds like a fair and valid criticism. I share your concern, but little that doesn't fit that mold exists, and even less of it sifts.

I try to use comment discussions to raise the bar on dialogue, and I really do make an effort to try and attract disagreement with my proclamations. What I crave more than anything is a debate with someone who disagrees with me who can hold serve with me.

None of that affected how choggie chose to respond to me. I made it clear that I agreed infotainment is a problem, but I don't think censoring it is the answer. I think bringing it up, and hashing through it with discussion is a far better medicine.

For whatever reason, that just went in one of his ears, and out the other, and he decided to respond to what I'm doing by attacking me personally, impugning my character, intelligence, and on more than a few occasions my parentage and sexual prowess.

Someone doing that infrequently doesn't really bother me. Sometimes people get mad and say stuff they probably shouldn't, but he made it a persistent mission to try to either make me mad, hurt my feelings, or just discredit me amongst other sifters. I made it clear that he'd crossed a line and that I wanted him to just fuck off and leave me alone, and he persisted.

I'm glad he's gone, and I think people who're in a rush to defend his behavior need to understand what he was really doing, namely that he was trying to bully people like me into silence, not raise some criticism people were too scared to bring up.

He was no victim of persecution, he was a perpetrator of it.

In reply to this comment by rasch187:
Personally I like it when people express an opinion I can, in principle, agree with. And choggie was, like me, very opposed to the extreme number of 'infotainment' vids concerning just about everything under the sun. While he chose to blame you (and others possibly, I'm not sure), I see it more as a problem for this website in general. Not because I necessarily disagree with the political viewpoints these people convey but because I find it repetitive and boring to always see these videos around, and more importantly, because I think they define what kind of opinions are accepted and expected from new members.

I don't like all these vids, but blaming individuals for what they believe and how they express it has never been high on my agenda. I don't feel any need to attack you personally, even though I don't necessarily agree with or like what you (and others) do in that regard.

How The Media Plays With Muslims' Emotions

NordlichReiter says...

In the US, the person could have called the cops on the grounds of Harassment. Just say, "I feel that my life is in danger, these camera men will not leave me alone. They've been following me for 30 minutes."

Once the cops hear this part, "I feel my life is in danger," they roll up in force. Some will say well that's lying, perhaps, but you have to prove that the person being harassed didn't feel their life was not in danger. That, is a hard thing to do; besides how do we know that the person being harassed didn't feel that way.

Shock Value at it's finest.

Atheism commercial

bmacs27 says...

I sort of want to parody this video where all the missionary work everyone complains about suddenly disappears. Then all the people in the video start dying of horrible diseases from the dirty water, or starving to death because they don't know how to properly irrigate their fields...

I like the comparison to overzealous vegans... this whole thing is getting old. Yes, people lobby for religious interests. There's also a meat lobby. Leave me alone, I won't sign your petition, and I don't have any money. To Dawkins and the rest, the public trust pays you to research biology, not pontificate on teapots from outer-space.

The reason nonbelievers don't organize is because we all have different political priorities. Why would you organize if you don't want the same things?

Great to see you, too, my poet friend.

As always, your videos are so close to my tastes that it makes me feel just a little weirded-out.

I might stop by more. Miss the place.

Still trying to get my ducks in a row. Discipline, etc.

Cenk, Cenk, Cenk...what happened to your outrage? There are plenty of reasons to be pissed off, and don't you dare apologize for being mad at what has happened to our country, and don't you dare forget who was responsible for it.

When, in a given month, the stock market can go up by 100 points, and 1,000,000 are laid off...and that's called a successful example of capitalism...by god somebody better start getting mad about this or we'll be dying in the streets and the only thing that the rich will bitch about is the smell.
