nibiyabiThis video is a fucking JOKE. I don't know where they found these "psychiatrists", but there are absolutely tests for certain (not all) mental disorders. If someone has an overactive substantia nigra, for instance, she is likely to be schizophrenic.
What the fuck do these people propose as the alternative? Oh, your kid doesn't really have autism. She doesn't need any special care or special treatment -- some men in a room just decided to invent autism! She'll be just fine.
Where the fuck do they get off pretending to be experts when they obviously know nothing of psychology/psychiatry? We don't "make up disorders out of thin air" -- there are certain symptom constellations that exhibit themselves again and again in the same patterns, and the same courses of treatment are effective in treating these people and giving them an improvement in the quality of their life. A "cure" is a very fucking tall order when you're talking about mental illness. The vast majority of patients who stick with their psychologist/psychiatrist see an improvement in the quality of their lives -- what more do you want, goddamnit?
