in 1979 ridley scott created a horror/sci-fi movie that changed the way horror/sci-fi was filmed.
this is a great documentary about the making of the original ALIEN movie with interviews with ridley scott and h.r giger along with behind the scenes look at how they created the alien.ridley scott reveals his decision to delete some scenes even though he found them interesting.

if you still want more there is also the making of aliens on the sift.directed by james cameron in 1986 this movie was a rare sequel that delivered but not with the suspense that ridley scott went for but non-stop action.
